My guess it’s just temporary until they figure out who to move off the 53 man roster.

I would think he's going to need a few weeks to practice and soak-up the terminology etc...

I wasnt expecting him to play next Sunday?

I like having his experience on the team, especially for DT and some of the younger guys.

I am glad we added some veteran depth at Edge. Let’s hope he has something left in the tank-his sack and pressure numbers seemed to fall off a cliff last year compared to his numbers in ‘23-‘24. Hopefully being reunited with Flores will help.

Man to get him on the practice squad to get him acclimated and make sure he is still has some gas left in the tank and not have to guarantee a full years contract is chefs kiss.

I always found him annoying when he played for the Ravens. Tended to make the little plays that make a big difference.

I would've preferred for Batty to stay healthy, but KVN sounds like a pretty solid addition. Not just a pass rusher, he plays the run well too. Made the Pro Bowl in 2024 with 12.5 sacks and 14 TFLs. After his Pro Bowl season, offenses started chipping him, reducing his production numbers in 2025, but I'd bet Flores would love it he drew that much attention away from all his other cats-on-fire pass rushers.

I was hoping we'd at least add someone who could give us Pat Jones-like pressure and I think we did one better.

I find it pretty interesting that we all knew that third edge spot was dicey. Yet, if Batty doesn’t get injured, do we still go after KVN? I tend to think it was always the plan to add an experienced edge, but what if BFlo was content with what was currently on the 53 man roster? Scheme over personnel.

They do, but he’s a depth signing. Not a starter. He’s cheaper because he’s not ideal

True and likely leadership as well.

Is this thing STILL on?

Hard to say. They did take their sweet time. It's possible they thought they'd be OK going into the season with a rotation of Batty, Richter, and Chambliss, with some blurry-position players like Golday, TID and Eric Wilson contributing as well.

But I'm glad we got KVN. There's some proven pass rush chops there.

I don't think so. Why wait until Batty was pronounced injured and then sign Van Noy? They also let other edge guys sign before Batty was injured that were younger. I'd still much rather have Batty than a 35 year old Van Noy who has played on how many teams the last 5 years? I just dont think it was a coincidence the timing. Regardless, he's a dude that hopefully won't make scheme mistakes with his knowledge of BFlo's D and that should have some kind of value, but not sure how much.

Yup, Ive always thought the same about the guy...Doesn't turtle-up at the important moments

Not sure whats left in the tank? But hopefully enough to make a difference here and there.

Minimally a vet presence to help herd the puppies playing D this season.

Perhaps Van Noy was waiting as well. I think there was always a plan to bring in some experience after the preseason was over. Van Noy was a pro-bowler 2 years ago, 12.5 sacks. Doesn't strike me as JAG. Seem like a good fit, and as I think Bercich, said, he is more like Greenard than Gink or Turner. Physical at the edge.

Honestly I think TID isn't showing out as well as hoped at edge. To me, that might have been what we were looking for in the preseason, but it wasn't there so we needed a physical presence at edge.
