A grade 1 ankle sprain is a mild injury where the ligaments in the ankle are stretched with only microscopic or minor tearing. Most Grade 1 sprains heal in 1-3 wks.

Actually I was wrong. It was an anterior talofibular ligament, the most common type caused by an inversion sprain. I had deltoid ligament on the brain for some reason!
