Breather day today! Your thoughts?
A break for us, players and coaches...I'll bet the rooks are glad to get that week1 under their belts.
Top of mind early in:
1). Thx to JIT, Cricket (and others) for the video posts, well done! Salute! Appreciated!
2). We might be seeing separation at QB
I hate the press slant of a winner one day and a winner the next, this is practice. Should be a safe time to learn new things
Just want to see JJM continue to improve, I really want him to be the long-time starter here one day
Need to name Qb1 soon
3). I had low expectations from some of the rooks yr1, especially Golday cause his position is so complex
Impressed with him, Banks and Demmings this early on
4). Sounds like running game is looking "crisp" early on?
any word on why Claiborne didnt practice Saturday?
Hurry-up Vikings, we ain't getting any younger!
I echo the sentiments of the updates from this squad in here. Great work to all!
I too will echo the stupidity from the slanted media crap of winners vs losers, but it comes with the territory for them...they can't help it.
It's exciting to see Flores opening the door for the rookies on defense and letting them get their feet wet with the first team. I'm really enjoying what I'm hearing, reading, and seeing with Golday. Chuck seems to be showing up a bit, but consistency for him will be key. Banks and Orange are beasts and I cannot wait to see them in action.

I'm starting to be more of a believer that the competition will make both those guys better too...JJM may not win Qb1 at the start, but this has got to be helping him a bunch and the same for K1.
Either way, we hopefully will be dismissing myths and misconceptions on both of em. Least I hope so.
Is Golday smart enough and athletic enough to be the heir apparent (one day) to AVG???

I don't know what Golday scored on his ACT or what his GPA was, but his work ethic and his willingness to study the playbook for multiple positions say a lot about his football IQ, leadership, and commitment to the team.

I think its too early to see anything with the QBs, but it will soon become apparent. Murray is just going to end up in the aggregate to be more consistent and his abilities will slowly start to eek out. And then when the bullets are real, he's going to do some exciting things that will get the fans going. I'll save my questions on him for later if there are issues, but for now he's got runway and should really be judged by how he does starting with Game 1 in Green Bay. New team, new clean slate and hopefully a new attitude for K1. Its up to him.
Way too early yet on the rookies. Monday will be the first time the team is in pads, so we need to slow our roll with that a bit. But BFlo runs a meritocracy, so if you're good enough, you'll play. Doesn't matter how old you are.
Let's stay as healthy as possible and see what we've got at U.S. Bank against the Packers.
• Happy to see Golday and Banks getting 1st team reps. Golday getting snaps at OLB3 so soon is surprising. If he can be a factor there along with Ingram-Dawkins, OLB3 may no longer be the one remaining hole on the roster. I mentioned this a couple weeks ago, but I think the idea that Flores isn't willing to start rookies is just a myth.
• Happy to come out of the first few days of camp without a serious injury. (I think?) I hope the signing of the new corner doesn't mean Pierre will miss time, but I would guess that is probably what it means. Like you, PF, I really would like to know what happened to Claiborne. Dear football gods, please note that I have not celebrated any other team's injuries, so please do not smite me. Amen.
• Happy that McCarthy is showing improvement in his mechanics and that Murray is showing progress within the offense. But I don't much react to, or even much care about, daily, almost hourly, observations of one QB or the other leading the competition. Nothing's clear after three practices, so nothing's changed my opinion that Murray will likely be the QB1 due to his experience advantage.

An official reason for Minnesota Vikings rookie running back Demond Claiborne missing Saturday's training camp practice has not been announced. [1]
Practice Absence Details
The Absence: Claiborne was not seen at Saturday's open training camp session after participating in the first few days.
Team Policy: NFL teams are not required to issue official injury reports during training camp, leaving the exact cause of an absence unconfirmed. [1]
