Caleb Banks....someone help me here....
So he injured his left foot last September, fought to come back....then broke that same foot at the Combine. Teams were supposedly 'concerned'. Vikings in the pre-draft process get him checked out at TCO and got the green light to draft him if so included by the orthopedic doctors there (some of the best in the country). The 'concern' also was if he'd be ready for TC by other teams. And not only is he 100% ready with no restrictions, he's getting very early reps with the #1 DL. Do I have that factually correct? Please let me know if I don't.
My question now then is: wtf was the rest of the league thinking?? Seriously. I understand no drafted player is a lock, but....what?? He's the kind of physical prospect that teams will kill for. The main rap was this supposed concern over the foot, yet here he is 100% locked in from Day 1. His production his last year in college was hampered because of the injury....why would he be dinged for that? Was it 'big man, foot problem, oh shit!' type of pearl clutching from some draftniks? 🤔
