Vikings Celebrate Local Teams Competing on Global Stage at NFL FLAG Championships

EAGAN, Minn. — The Vikings are rooting for young athletes headed to the global stage.

Five youth flag football teams will represent Minnesota at the NFL FLAG Championships, which will take place July 23-26 in Westfield, Indiana:

Chosen Frozen, 8u | Minneapolis/St. Paul

Blaine Bengals, 10u | Blaine

Fadesss Fighters, 10u | Greater Minnesota

Jsizzles, 12u | St. Paul

Eagan High School | Eagan

Vikings Vice President of Social Impact Brett Taber noted the talent and passion for the game throughout Minnesota "continues to rise, and these athletes embody the future of football."

"Girls flag football is experiencing incredible momentum highlighted by 104 high school teams competing this year, and we are excited about the pathway toward emerging status and, ultimately, full sanctioning in Minnesota," Taber said. "Our fans will be cheering our Minnesota teams on as they compete on one of the biggest stages in the sport."

Eagan High School, located just 7 miles from Twin Cities Orthopedics Performance Center, has been a girls flag participant for the past two seasons.

"This is a special moment for our program and for our athletes, who have put in a tremendous amount of work to earn the chance to compete on this stage," Eagan Head Coach Brandon Carl said. "For our team, this opportunity is about more than wins and losses. It is about representing Eagan with pride, showing the growth of girl's flag football in Minnesota and helping inspire the next generation of athletes who want to be part of this sport.

"We are grateful for the support from our school, families, community and the Minnesota Vikings, and we are looking forward to competing, creating lifelong memories and showing what Eagan flag football is all about," Carl added.

Featuring more than 350 boys and girls teams from across the world, this year's tournament marks the largest in the event's history.

Droplight Grand Park Sports Campus, a premier 400-plus acre complex feature more than 30 multipurpose fields in the Indianapolis metro area, will host the games. Families and fans can register for free entry by downloading the NFL OnePass app or visiting NFLFlag.com/championships. Every adult must register; each registrant may include up to five children per entry.

ESPN will provide live coverage of the tournament, bringing the excitement of youth flag football to fans everywhere. Starting Friday, July 24, through the championship games on Sunday, July 26, games will be available on ESPN, ABC, ESPN2, NFL Network, ESPN Deportes, NFL+ and the ESPN app, with select games also available on Disney+, Disney Channel, Disney XD and YouTube. Games will also be available in select international markets.
