Edges Available ~ Your Preference?
Your preference or someone else?
The most realistic edge rusher trade target for the Minnesota Vikings is the New York Giants' Kayvon Thibodeaux. However, instead of making a trade, the Vikings have over $13 million in cap space to pursue top available veteran free agents like Haason Reddick or Jadeveon Clowney.
The Minnesota Vikings currently have a glaring need for veteran depth on the edge following the offseason trade of Jonathan Greenard. They boast a strong starting duo in Dallas Turner and Andrew Van Ginkel, but the depth behind them is paper-thin. Exploring the open market is the most viable path to shore up defensive coordinator Brian Flores' pass rush.
The top options remaining on the free-agent market to back up starters Dallas Turner and Andrew Van Ginkel include:
Haason Reddick: Projected as a prime scheme fit by analysts, he has a strong history of high-level production in flexible 3-4 defenses and provides immediate pass-rush upside. Widely linked to the Vikings by analysts, he brings a high pass-rush win rate. Though his 2025 sack totals were low, his ability to rush the passer fits defensive coordinator Brian Flores' scheme.
Joey Bosa: A high-profile veteran who could provide elite rotational pass-rushing depth if the price is right. One of the most disruptive pure edge rushers on the open market, offering an elite ceiling when healthy.
Jadeveon Clowney: A highly experienced veteran who racked up 8.5 sacks and 40 pressures last season. Offers solid starting experience and is a strong run-defender on the edge. He is a proven, high-impact rotational piece who wouldn't necessarily demand an exorbitant, every-down starter salary.
A.J. Epenesa: A more affordable depth option (projected at around $5-6 million annually) who consistently produces 25-35 pressures and brings added value with his forced fumbles and interceptions.
Von Miller: At age 37, he still managed 9 sacks last season as a pass-rush specialist in a rotational role. His championship pedigree could be incredibly valuable for mentoring the younger players.
Other available veteran options include Cameron Jordan, Kyle Van Noy, and Yannick Ngakoue, all of whom could step into a rotational role to shore up a currently thin depth chart.

Bosa is always injured so I would go with Clowney. Clowney in B-Flo's D could wreck people.
Clowney is 33 also. Some gas left in the tank. 37 for Von Miller is way up there.
