Massive Humans
Massive men who can rush the passer are extremely rare. This is an enormous human with 35-inch arms. He didn’t have the greatest end to his college career, with just 3.5 sacks his final two seasons. He was then hurt at the combine, where he ran a 5.05 with a 1.76 spit. He was taken in the late teens in the draft. ESPN, PFF and USA Today called him a reach.
Oh wait…that’s Dexter Lawrence.
Caleb Banks ran a 5.04 with a 1.76 split and had 4.5 sacks his final two seasons. Btw, both Lawrence and Banks did 36 reps with 35 inch arms. That's impressive.

Fans hate interior offensive and defensive line picks in April. They hate not having them in October. It's boring, but necessary. #skol

Good perspective from MB ^ Here's to drafting more massive men today and tomorrow.
Funny thing as I’m watching the pick and Rodger says “Caleb” my brain short circuited for a second thinking “wait, Downs is gone”.
Someone compared him to Akiem Hicks and I think that’s another comp that makes a ton of sense.
I didn’t catch the 36 reps. That’s insane with that arm length. It certainly shows up on tape. I think our favorite move will be the speed rush up field, get to depth, hump/club/toss and close.

I heard a Chris Jones comp and that perked my ears up big time.

It keeps coming up. I think physically he’s closer to Hicks. Banks did say he wants to take a bit of weight off. Understandable, but that’s a solid 330.

I think the Chris Jones comp comes from his length. Both are roughly 6-6. Hicks and Lawrence are bit shorter at 6-4 ish

I may have been AI'd on that one, with the source leading to, um, Facebook. LOL. I know he didn't lift at the combine or pro day. Let's call it unconfirmed for now.
