Hey Buddah. Welcome back! Do you think the team knows whether Harry is coming back? Could be they do. It's lying season in the NFL. I don't trust anything a team says until after the draft.

Hitman is definitely returning. You think they would not have announced anything if he was retiring? It is all strategy. He isn't a selfish, self-centered egomaniac like A-A-Ron. He knows what he wants to do and if it was retirement we would know by now.

They may know...they may just hope (at the right price). It's certainly in the teams best interest to give Harry all the time he needs so no need to jump the gun. You're right though...Smith seems like a pretty non-nonsense guy...not sure he would jack the team around like a certain QB...who we passed over...twice in a draft way back when.

That is draft talk. They are playing poker and do not want to give away their hand. What benefit do the Vikings get from announcing his retirement or his signing? Another team might want to jump in front of us to grab Thieneman because they believe we will grab him. That is what we want if Hitman is coming back.

If we announce that we signed Hitman before the draft, then that snipering will not happen. The reason to do that would be to then draft the safety without someone else jumping us. If that was what we wanted. It works both ways.
