Strib: Vikings need a center, Ferentz with the answer?
There doesn't seem to be a more predictable selection in the draft than the Vikings using one of their 3rd rounders on one of the top 4 centers. It's a perfect example of need matching value. And of course that can only mean it won't happen.

Logan Jones should have always been on the short list of guys we target for the C spot in rounds 2-4.
Funny:
One of the “experts” had Jones among the “fast risers” after the combine. Why? Because he ran a 4.9 40-yard dash, fastest among all offensive linemen.
“That’s an illustration of what’s wrong – no, that’s too strong a word – what’s entertaining to me about the whole process,” Ferentz said. “Somebody is getting excited about a center’s 40 time.
“I had no idea he ran 4.9. I don’t know what Tyler ran. All I know is when either of them reach-blocked a guy, he got there, and he got there fast.”
“Where they are the same is our quality of center play was really good when Tyler was here and it’s been very much the same the last couple of years with Logan,” Ferentz said. “They’re very comparable body-wise, size-wise. Their attitude, approach is very similar. There are a lot of parallels between the guys, and one just signed a record-setting deal for a center.”
