So which one of you is Bryan DeArdo?

Either Bryan DeArdo can predict the future or this is a highly premature statement.

Minnesota Vikings

Best pick: RB Adrian Peterson (No. 7 overall, 2007)

The Vikings have had some impressive picks, but the obvious pick is Peterson, who -- along with LaDainian Tomlinson and Derrick Henry -- is among the greatest running backs of all-time. The last non-quarterback to win league MVP, Peterson's 2,097 rushing yards in 2012, represent the second-highest single-season total in NFL history.

While Peterson beat him out, Justin Jefferson is quickly making his case as being the best receiver of his era. Despite not having elite quarterback play in Minnesota, Jefferson racked up 8,480 receiving yards during his first six seasons, the most in NFL history during a player's first six seasons.

Worst pick: QB J.J. McCarthy (No. 10 overall, 2024)

A year after drafting McCarthy (who missed his entire rookie season with an injury), the Vikings allowed Sam Darnold to test the open market, then watched as Darnold won a Super Bowl with the Seahawks. McCarthy, meanwhile, delivered a forgettable 2025 season that saw him complete less than 58% of his passes with more interceptions (12) than touchdown passes (11). His struggles last season compelled the Vikings to go out and sign Kyler Murray.

JJM worst pick ever? Based on the small sample size? Dmitrius Underwood is by far the Vikings worst draft pick ever. Not even close. I'm not even sure JJM is the worst QB drafted in the recent memory. I'd take him over Ponder all day long even with the injury issues

AP best ever? Moss was drafted lower..just sayin

Matt Kalil at #4 in 2012... ugh.

Troy Williamson #7 in 2005

Erasmus James #19 2005 (Lord what a disaster that draft was. Imagine if we'd taken Demarcus Ware and Roddy White)

LaQuon Treadwell #23 2016

Mike Hughes #30 2018

Jeff Gladney #31 2020 (if we'd just stayed at 25 instead of trading down, we'd have had Winfield, Jr.)

Cine #32 2022

All of these are easily worse than JJM

All you need to know is that DeArdo was born and raised in......wait for it.....Columbus, Ohio. There's a certain university there that hates another university that McCarthy played for. I hope I've connected the dots for everyone, lol.

McCarthy can't even be considered a bust yet, let alone the worst bust for a team that drafted Williamson, Underwood, Cine, etc.

The combination of not taking Hamilton, trading down for poor value with a division rival and then drafting Cine will forever be our Herschel Walker of draft picks.

Yea...that Hamilton pick. EVERYBODY knew who the VIkings would pick. EVERYBODY...well evidently except for the guy that was smarter than EVERYBODY. It's like the moon landing for me. I remember exactly where I was...for the trade back.

Kalil is on the list...and deservingly so but similar to the Vikings picking Hamilton...Kalil was the consensus pick. Dude got by on talent alone...until he couldn't. And according to his ex-wife...he had talent.

I've seen the sentiment echoed a few times on social media, and I make the same points: Underwood? Williamson? Hell, I remember every damned pass that bounced off of Williamson's helmet...still trying to drink that out of my memories.

I mean...the WR we drafted with the Randy Moss trade pic couldn't look up for a long pass. I still see that as a severe low point.

KOC, JJM, Flores...make a good plan, or you'll be following Kwesi....
