Writing and Formatting Posts

VikeFans uses a rich text editor that supports a variety of formatting options. Here's what you can do.

Basic Formatting

• Bold — highlight text and click B, or use Ctrl+B
• Italic — Ctrl+I
• Underline — Ctrl+U
• Strikethrough — available in the toolbar

Headings and Lists

Use the heading buttons (H1, H2, H3) to add section headers. Bullet lists and numbered lists are both supported via the toolbar.

Quoting Another Post

Click the quote icon on any post to pull that post's content into your reply editor as a quoted block. You can then type your response below it. This is a great way to keep conversations organized when a thread gets long.

@Mentioning Someone

Type @ followed by a username to mention someone. They'll receive a notification. Autocomplete will pop up after a couple characters to help you find the right person.

Embedding YouTube Videos

Paste a YouTube URL directly into the editor and it will automatically embed as a player. Works with standard youtube.com/watch links and youtu.be short links.

Embedding Tweets / X Posts

Paste a link to a tweet or X post and it will embed as a card showing the author, text, and any media. If the native Twitter widget is blocked by your browser, a fallback card is shown instead.

Images

Use the image button in the toolbar to upload an image directly into your post (JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF). Images are hosted on VikeFans — no third-party image hosts needed.

Tables

The toolbar includes a table tool for inserting rows and columns. Useful for things like stat comparisons or mock draft boards.
