Vikings Top 30 Visits
Hard to find a comprehensive list anywhere, but this is a good start. VIR is virtual meeting, PRO is pro day visit, WOR is a private workout. What can be surmised from this? The Vikings will take a RB. ILB is a real consideration starting in round 2. The Vikings are looking at mostly middle round WRs. Why would they meet with Pregnon, who is a round 1-2 guard? I think to ask about Thieneman and Sadiq.
Demond Claiborne, Running Back, Wake Forest (T30)
Jonah Coleman, RB, Wash (T30)
Emmett Johnson, RB, NE (T30)
Jacobian Guilory, Defensive Tackle, LSU (PRO)
Gracen Halton, Defensive Tackle, Oklahoma (PRO)
Anthony Hill Jr., Linebacker, Texas (T30)
Erick Hunter, Linebacker, Morgan State (PRO)
Ted Hurst, Wide Receiver, Georgia State (T30)
Khalil Jacobs, Inside Linebacker, Missouri (VIR)
Chris Johnson, Cornerback, San Diego State (WOR)
Tristan Leigh^, Offensive Tackle, Clemson (WOR, T30)
Lance Mason, Tight End, Wisconsin (T30)
Jake Pope, Offensive Tackle, Illinois State (PRO)
Emmanuel Pregnon, Offensive Guard, Oregon (PRO)
Mason Reiger, Defensive End, Wisconsin (T30)
Treydan Stukes, Cornerback, Arizona (PRO)
Jeff Golday, ILB, Cinc (T30)
I think the disagreement on Anthony Hill Jr. and why he's ranked all over the place comes from his positional uncertainty. He can play off-ball but does he have the take-on or the instincts to do that in the NFL? He can rush the passer, but he's not really an edge either. Or will the fact that he can do both appeal to a guy like Flores who values versatility more than anything?

That's just it and I think for a guy like Flores, Hill would appeal even more because of his versatility and being able to stick a big athlete in the middle of your defense who can play all over the field, is instinctive and excels in zone coverage. I think his ability to blitz from anywhere and get to the quarterback would also be appealing. Flores doesn't use the typical "big thumpers" at the linebacker position and we saw that last year with Pace taking a seat and Wilson taking his position. You see what Flores did with Wilson, imagine the things he could scheme up with a guy like Hill.
And again, this is why I'm advocating for trading Greenard. If you can add another high to mid second round pick, or maybe even a late 1st from a team like New England with some change thrown in, you do it. I think it's hard to imagine for some without attaching names to it, but if you have three of the top 49 picks in this draft and you can parlay them into, say; Jordyn Tyson, Caleb Banks, and Anthony Hill...I think starting to build a young core of talent is more important than keeping Greenard, his new contract, and a snap split with Dalls Turner.
Unlike last year, the Minnesota Vikings will have plenty of options to bring in young talent, as they have far more picks going into the 2026 NFL Draft.
One position of interest for the Vikings is at defensive tackle as they look to rebuild their defensive line after several losses in the offseason. Minnesota had to release veterans Jonathan Allen and Javon Hargrave to save money against the cap.
Minnesota has a target in mind already in the draft, as Essentially Sports' NFL analyst Tony Pauline reported that the Vikings have a 30-minute visit with Iowa State defensive tackle Dom Orange. As a third-team All-Big 12 selection last year, Orange had 18 tackles and one pass deflection with the Cyclones.
Minnesota Vikings have scheduled a visit with DL prospect Dom Orange
There have been some questions about Orange because he was unable to work out at the NFL Combine. Pauline shared how he did in his most recent workout for NFL teams.
"Orange measured 6-foot-2 and 321 pounds, hit 31.5 inches in the vertical jump, completed 27 reps on the bench, and ran the 40 once, timing 5.15 seconds, though he did pull up after 35 yards due to tightness in his hamstring.
His 10-yard split came in between 1.68 and 1.70 seconds, a terrific mark. His short shuttle time of 4.65 seconds was also impressive."
The top guy on the defensive line at tackle is Jalen Redmond, who has emerged as one of the most underrated in the NFL. Minnesota also has Levi Drake Rodriguez and Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins as potential starters as well for 2026.
There is a chance the Vikings could look on Day 1 or 2 for a defensive tackle. If they are looking for a sleeper pick on Day 3, Orange fits that description.
While Orange won't be a pass rusher in the NFL, his run-stopping skills are solid, and he can cause disruption without the stats showing it. Throw him in the middle of the line on first and second down to stop the run, and he could do well in that role.
The 2026 season will most likely feature a lot of Vikings rookies getting significant playing time, and Orange would be a solid rotational player on the team if Minnesota selects him.

I think flores values IQ more than anything. That kind of fits with versatility, but is more than just physically able to play more than one position. Having the smarts to do it well, changing responsibilities from one play to the next, or even within the play.

I'd be surprised if Orange were still on the board on day three. If we go elsewhere in the 1st, I like Orange as early as the 2nd round, no later than the 3rd.
Source tells me that Cincinnati wide receiver Jeff Caldwell is on the Minnesota Vikings 30 visit list.

He posted monster numbers at the Combine. https://t.co/LChkhjikh6’s Athleticism Score for him was a 99.
Last year he had 32 catches for 478 yards and 6 TDs

Looks like day-three developmental receiver. You would think 6-5, 216, 4.31 speed and a 42-inch vert would explode off the tape, but it doesn't really seem to. Piece of clay for McCardell.

So this is why the silliest season of all for the NFL is Draft season, beyond even free agency. The 'rumor' is Minnesota brass is focusing on production over potential in this Draft....ok....so why are most of the Top 30 invitees the exact opposite? This guy is a great example. Its because that 'rumor' is bullshit.
I don't think it's cut and dried like that. I think meetings are typically with players they still have questions abouit. For example, Vikings have met with Demond Claiborne "multiple" times. He had some maturity issues early on. Vikings probably just want to make sure they're comfortable with him before they're on the clock.
Plus, we don't even know if the production over traits thing is even true. Sounds like bullshit coachspeak to me. It's like BPA: "We're going to take the best players available regardless of need." Yeah, sure you are. Everyone says that but they don't really mean it.

Vikings recent drafts would have gone better if they just went bpa. But teams do think in terms of needs for better or worse.
As for coach speak, have you heard we're having a quarterback competition this summer? Very exciting, may the best man win.
p.s. Kevin O'Connell was heard mumbling drunk at the NFL Combine bar, "Kyler ish the besht man so take THAT, Klazee Adoopo Menflah! BELCH."

I'm convinced that for some BPA just means "take a WR."

That's a damn good list of players. With the exception of maybe Bell, give me any two of 'em and I'll be happy.
