That time of year FWIW....

===========================================

Vikings-Bills trade pitch would send $10 million receiver from Buffalo to Minnesota

The Buffalo Bills should look to give wide receiver Keon Coleman a fresh start after a tumultuous 2025 season, and the Minnesota Vikings could be a possible destination.

FanSided's Austen Bundy predicts the Vikings will be Coleman's next team as he prepares for a make-or-break 2026 season.

"Coleman could get a new lease on his career and demonstrate he's still an elite prospect while Buffalo recoups value and Beane can select the guy he actually wants," Bundy said.

During his rookie year in 2024, Coleman showed promise, posting 556 yards and four touchdowns. However, 2025 didn't go well, as the Florida State product was a healthy scratch in a few games and has fallen out of the Bills' future plans.

A split would be beneficial for Coleman and the Bills, and the Vikings could be a logical landing spot for the young receiver

Minnesota has a need for receiver depth behind Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison after the departure of Jalen Nailor in free agency to the Las Vegas Raiders. Coleman would fill that need, but the 22-year-old would also receive the chance to compete for the No. 3 receiver spot with the Vikings and earn significant playing time.

Additionally, Coleman will not cost much to trade for, as a Day 3 pick should get a deal done with Buffalo.

Taking a flyer on Coleman makes all the sense in the world for Minnesota. The move would come with little risk, and if Coleman can land on his feet with the Vikings, Kevin O'Connell's offense would have another dynamic playmaker for Kyler Murray or J.J. McCarthy, depending on who wins the starting quarterback job.

He can't separate at the NFL level, doubt we have any interest.

Or read the time to show up for meetings on time.  There were good reasons other than his play that he got benched last year.

He ran a 4.61 40.

When a WR is slow they have to make up for it with greater speed and precision inside how they run their route.

Coleman hasn't developed that. A change of scenery won't make up for it.

I wouldn’t. We don’t have a clue what we have in Felton. We already know Coleman's a bust.

Really? Coleman is only 22 and has 67 catches and 8 TD's over two seasons. Felton is already 23 and had a whopping 3 receptions for 25 yards last year. Which one is the proven bust again?

Are you new here? Felton was behind three very good receivers, a 4th if you add Adam Thielen. He was never going to get snaps. We have no idea what we have in Felton, good, bad or otherwise. Coleman was given every opportunity in Buffalo, missed meetings, and was healthy scratched on two separate occasions and became the red-headed step child in Buffalo's front office divorce. The owner actually blamed the coach for pushing Coleman in the draft. "I didn't want him, YOU wanted him" LOL.

Sure Felton might still be a bust. Be we know Coleman is. I guess he and Addison can get beers. What could go wrong?

Thats where I'm at too...Especially with a 3rd round receiver and the worst QB''ing in the NFC last year.

I'm as curious to see his development as I am to see Turner and Jackson yr3 & yr2

Nah, I've been around since before you were touting Lewis Cine and Brian Asamoah as future stars. But, give me the 22 year old who has proven he can play already. Felton might never catch 8 TD's in his career.

Coleman had 4 TDs last year. Justin Jefferson had 2. Now...don’t say I never gave you fantasy advice.

When they drafted him some of the Strib beat guys had a story about how the coaches decided they could take him once they verified he could return kicks.   But the emergence of Myles Price relegated him to punt gunner.  3rd round picks need to be doing a lot more than punt gunner, but then it's the Vikings.  Ricky turned four 3rd rounders into four cuts one year if I recall correctly.   Anyhow draft guys who I follow thought it was a bad pick at the time and his inability to even compete with Nailor for WR3 doesn't tell me he has a bright future in the NFL.   But you never know.

I haven't hated a pick that much since Laquon Treadwell. But I hated it because I saw much bigger needs at RB, safety and DT. I knew nothing about Felton. I didn't even look at WRs for us last year. Still, the fact remains that Felton was redshirted (likely to gain some weight), and we know zip, zilch, nada about what he might offer this year.

In this case we gotta not only wait, but decide to put faith in McCardell or not. This was clearly him pounding the table for a guy.

Honestly, I'm more curious to see what he's got looking ahead to 26 vs angry about him not playing much behind Jettas/Addison/Nailor last year.

And I think for Felton, right or wrong, how do you not lump him into the par average of every Mensah pick over the last four years? You'd have to think there's a good chance he's a bust after doing absolutely nothing as a rookie

Yeah, that gives me hope. McCardell knows WRs. And after drafting him, I watched some of his clips. He's got some real juice. Reminds me a lot of Jordan Addison actually. He's not the magician Addison is, but he's slightly bigger and he's actually faster. Heard nothing at all about him in last year's camp, so I'll be curious to see if he's got what it takes to move into the Speedy role.

Whether or not the Vikings draft a WR before day three will tell us everything we need to know about what they think of him.

I'll see your Laquon Treadwell and raise you one Troy Williamson!

Both were horrible picks among horrible options. Treadwell's fellow 1st round receivers: Corey Coleman, Will Fuller and Josh Doctson. Williamson's 1st round class included Braylon Edwards, Mike Williams, Matt Jones, Mark Clayton and Roddy White. 9 out of 10 were busts.
