What (if any) of your kid favorites still make the pantry/fridge or freezer today? At least sometimes?

For me:

Cap'N Crunch Cereal
Oscar Mayer Beef Bologna
Skippy Chunky Peanut Butter

LOL....yep, the Cap'n has found his way into my cart from time to time. When he does, I'm sure to point out to the checker that this is not for my kids. It's for ME!

Reese's PB cups are my guilty pleasure.  I also like gummi bears.

This is a funny thread. I don't eat any of that sugary cereal anymore, but I'm a sucker for anything with crunchy peanut butter-ish (just found some creatine bars at Costco that are crunchy peanut butter/chocolate...do not taste medicin-y at all.

This is why I like this group. Totally off the wall s*it

If you're looking for a low sugar option, the Quest PB cups are good.

The Barebells cookies and cream protein bar is really good too.

Also, I can't do sugar cereal. Honey nut cheerios are the only sweet cereal I can eat. I used to love Wheaties and milk (no sugar) as a kid. Call me kooky lol

I rarely eat cereal anymore, just more of a treat thing very rarely than anything. Its about as useless of processed crap that you can eat with no nutritional value at all, and that includes the 'healthy' ones. The one below is the best tasting protein bar I've ever tried... a little lower on the grams of protein than normal, but tastes amazing. Lower sugar.

Best value? These:

Protein bars and drinks are expensive.

I think the whole super processed foods issue is real and we're just beginning to learn about the impact these can have over a lifetime.

Yah, cereal is a once in a while indulgence for me too. Something that scratches that sweet itch...There are some protein drinks I'll enjoy and yes, they are too expensive!

Like $10 for 4 of em!

I grew up in a house with no "fancy" cereal, (I though we were rich when Mom started buying Wheaties).  It was only cheerios, rice krispies, and some type of grain flake,  honey nut cheerios were a treat when we would go visit Granny at the lake or in shakopee.  I thought they were so sweet and tasty,  but as an adult I cant hardly stand them,  makes my stomach kinda sick shortly after eating a bowl of them.

I rarely eat cereal anymore. When I do, I splurge on some form of granola-ish. My current favorite is Costco's Morning Summit. A little goes a long ways.

Speaking of nutrition, I've been working with a company who does processing of bioactive extracts. What they have found is that regardless of the function (focus, alert, relaxation, anti-anxiety, pain relief, etc), their process makes the bioactives 2-3x stronger, you feel the "perceived effect" in 5-15 minutes (instead of approx 45 minutes if processed through the liver) and it lasts 50% longer.

I had one of my nutraceutical customers test it...they confirmed it. They are switching to this new format.

I just started taking a Curcumin supplement that they make. I'll let you know.

I'm a big fan of sandwiches. I typically buy turkey and roast beef from the deli. But every now and then I'll get a craving for the cheap bologna and velveeta I grew up on.

All together now! "My bologna has a first name, it's O-S-C-A-R, my bologna has a second name..."

back in my Mkt Research days, I worked for a time at a research supplier and OM was one of our customers.

We used to go to their HQ in Madison quarterly for biz reviews, new product tracking etc.

Got to tour the factory and see how so much of their product at one point is pink sludge. You could smell that factory from a mile away if the wind was right - mmmmmm bacon.

I'm surprised I can eat bologna at all after seeing it in that state. Like cereal, a once in a blue moon treat.

Yeah, some things you're just better off not knowing, like how bologna, sausage and hot dogs are made.

And this one...
Coffee (Kopi Luwak): Known as one of the world's most expensive coffees, this is made from coffee beans that have been eaten, digested, and defecated by the Asian palm civet.

Bought a small box of Lucky Charms for St. Patricks day. Kids don't see many of those cereals, so I spoiled them (and myself) for one bowl.

Hot tamales for candy.

I like Frosted Flakes and cinnamon toast crunch.

Quite honestly my favorite indulgence is beer though. I’ll try em all!!
