From 4th overall pick to really a complete afterthought in Indy.....and he's only 23 years old. The Colts have no plans for this kid in their near future. Maybe as QB2 until Jones heals? But more probably going to trade him away to a team here in the next few weeks. Its kind of amazing really if you look at it. They've determined he's not worth developing....that's what it comes down to. I wonder what things internally you see as a staff that gives you this thought to move away from a QB like this? Could this be a similar deal that happens to McCarthy? Seems like Carolina is hanging in there with Bryce Young as a contrary-type maneuver. The Titans gave up on Will Levis after 21 games started. What separates who a NFL decides to stick with and what decides moving them out of a team's plans quickly?

Things that come to mind for me:

[*]Injuries preventing him from playing, practicing, competing, and learning - similar argument for McCarthy unfortunately, but the difference is, Richardson has had significant injuries leading up to the NFL from his senior year of high school and throughout college whereas McCarthy had very minor, if any.
[*]Maybe he's not that smart?
[*]When he did play, he didn't see the field well and seemed to want to scramble first (at least the times I saw him play), so maybe he's not a fit for Indy?
[*]And lastly and most obvious is that we live in an instant gratification society for QBs specifically performing on the field before they are pulled and ridiculed by teams and fans

I'm actually still shocked that Bryce Young has made it this far. He has bulked up a big, but he's still so skinny and my biggest knock and concern for Daniels as well, like RGIII. Good for Bryce, but we will see how long both of them last.
We also know that the draft isn't an exact science. Just because a guy is selected high in the draft, Couch, Leaf, DeMarcus Russell, Rosen, Trubisky, etc etc etc, doesn't mean they will pan out, even if they were highly touted, uber athletic, incredibly smart, etc.
I did expect Richardson to perform well in the NFL, but maybe his work ethic is poor and he expected to survive on his talent alone? Who knows. I wouldn't mind bringing him in as a backup, but not for anything more than a 5th rounder.
Speaking about this: it sure is starting to walk and talk like a duck with Kyler Murray and Minnesota. Seeing more steam, not less. Maybe KOC feels Kyler at this cost is too good to turn down for a year. My guess is the appeal to Murray is come in for a year, prove it and you'll get paid somewhere and I can't imagine Minnesota letting Murray go if he has an Uncle Sammy year.
