BFlo got paid
So Brian Flores is now the highest paid Defensive Coordinator in the history of the NFL.
Brian Flores has signed a new contract with the Minnesota Vikings, making him the highest-paid defensive coordinator in the NFL at over $6 million per season.
Contract Details
Extension Confirmation: Brian Flores has officially signed a contract extension with the Minnesota Vikings, as confirmed by the team. This extension comes after his previous contract expired, allowing him to negotiate a new deal.
Financial Terms: The new contract reportedly pays Flores more than $6 million per year, surpassing the previous highest salary for a coordinator, which was held by Vic Fangio at $4.5 million. This significant financial commitment reflects the Vikings' confidence in Flores' abilities as a defensive strategist.
Two key items that inquiring minds want to know:
1) How many years is the contract term?
2) Did this delay in negotiating BFlo's contract have anything to do with KAM's eventual firing?
The first answer should be black and white, but I cannot find it.
The second answer...I doubt anyone would openly acknowledge it if it did. But still...
Thats a nice bump for him...The BFlo family likes it here quite a bit by all accounts
Win/Win is hard to come by these days, I'll take it!
My guess is that the KAM fire and BFlo extension arent related. The timeline doesnt jive if you believe the Wilfs didnt make the final decision until shortly before KAM was curbed and it went public.
Hurry-up Vikings, we ain't getting any younger!
Obviously retaining Flores is a great thing.
Regarding the second item, I think Flores contract renegotiations are probably the primary catalyst in KAM getting fired. I just don’t think I have much faith that the Vikings just took a while to figure it out. I think it’s more likely that he was going to get another year, until something happened that made them change their mind, which timeline-wise lines up best with Darnold winning the championship game and Flores getting resigned. I don’t really think the Vikings are that petty that they would require Darnold winning one game to move on a month late, I think it’s mostly that Flores made them question whether or not Kwesi was helping or hindering things either directly or indirectly, and Kwesi was pretty easily replaceable whereas Flores is not.
Welp, it’s either KOC or BFlo in 2027. Mostly dependent on QB play.
I’ll put this out there K’aaron is the starter next year.

I think it's a lot more likely than some people want to admit. I'll say this, it depends a lot on what they think about JJ McCarthy. If they really like him and think he has a bright future, Rodgers could be the guy. If they don't like him and think he's fundamentally flawed in some way, it will more likely be a younger guy like Kyler Murray, Mac Jones or Malik Willis.
I think Mike McCarthy in Pitt ups the odds Rogers stays there - if he plays at all anymore.

Sorry, but I think there are better options than Aaron Rodgers.
Heck, at this point, I'm almost wondering if Cousins isn't a realistic option as a veteran backup, who knows the offense, who is not coming with strings attached from a trade?
Letting Flores reach free agency wasn't in his top 5 reasons why he got canned.
There was delay when kwesis signed his extension that was never really explained.
Best NFL Defenses,

per EPA/Play,
Last Two Seasons:
1. Vikings
2. Texans
3. Broncos
4. Eagles
5. Seahawks
6. Chargers
7. Browns
8. Lions
9. Packers
10. Rams
Whatever the Vikings decide at QB, that guy basically walks into the NFL's consistently best defense as of late.

Well he can take over if they move on from KOC
only if he can find a version of himself to take the O, I dont see him as the type of guy that is going to relate well with many offensive skill players, I doubt there are many nurturing words used in the heat of a situation.
Why isn't Chuck Foreman in the Hall of Fame?

I was just thinking in terms of the pendulum swing but we'll see how this season goes.
