The added drama of meaningful games through week 18 is an element of this that wasn't brought up last year. At some point, the NFL has to make this change. It's not just more fair; it's good for the NFL. As it is, with fantasy football over and most games this weekend utterly meaningless, millions will tune out.

Agreed. While I am not the biggest fan of the NBA over the past couple decades, I do appreciate their playoff ranking/seeding format and do think that it would make sense to figure out a way to incorporate that into the NFL playoffs.
