Hat tip, I didn't think they could do it

Congrats to them.

the Vikings games versus Lions and Packers will absolutely influence  NFC  playoff seeding.

For JJ it's not playoff experience but it's the next closest thing because the games matter.

Minnesota is out, I get it, l BUT  they can  do someb major  damage on the way out.

US Bank Stadium is gonna  be rocking ...

LFG!

I see the stadium situation becoming more like a neutral site game at best with many Vikings fans dumping their tickets and packers ( who typically have a heavy presence in minny anyway) and lions fans snapping them up.

Caleb Williams with some big time throws in the clutch and was ridiculous all night evading the rush.

Tough to watch Nashon Wright, a castoff by the "brilliant" Brian Flores turning into one of the better CBs in the league. He has as many interceptions than our entire team! I think Flores is an awful talent evaluator, especially in the secondary where 3 guys he cut Wright, Reddy Stewart and Blackmon would all be playing valuable time in our brutal secondary.

Very memorable ending. Fun to watch. Ben Johnson is trending in the right direction.

I was at a Christmas party last night with a bunch of Packer friends. The guys all congregated in the garage and watched the game. They were pretty cocky even after Love was knocked out. That ending was absolutely glorious.

Yep, if JJM can end the year with back to back games at USB playing well, fans will be elated to head into next year knowing who QB1 is. And try and do as much damage to NFCN seeding as possible along the way. Going to be some big ol' tears this morning in Wisconsin over that loss, hilarious...now is when their tie really hurts them. Oh did you see Caleb's off balance 'mechanics' on that deep beautiful throw to Moore to win it, lol?? It looked like McCarthy launching that, leg whip and all. NOBODY CARES. Just be accurate. Going to be some Bear's fans rooting for Minnesota in the Green Bay -Vikings game upcoming. Lions are basically going to have to win their remaining 3 games to get into the playoffs as a wildcard or division winner.

Bottom line: there aren't any world beaters in the NFCN, so Minnesota should be in the mix for the title next year with an improved McCarthy.

Man, have we been watching the same team?! I think what BFlo and the Vikings D has done this year is nothing short of amazing.

I thought that shallow pool of DB's would get torched this year, I was so wrong...

The Vikings are #5 D vs pass:

Heading into NYG, they have not allowed a TD pass in 5 consecutive games:

A FG would have won it and they were almost in range when Caleb uncorked the killshot. Impressive comeback. Rough couple weeks for the Pack.

That's just VDS, Viking Derangement Syndrome. It's where most Viking fans think their team is far worse than it really is. It has a cure though: Context and the naked truth.

Honorable mention to Malik Willis for coming in to the situation and performing as he did. Romeo Doubs totally messed up. Caleb Williams is still inconsistent. Here's hoping to Packers, Bears and Lions getting their asses kicked in and out of the playoffs

So tell me what a great job Flores has done with personnel, the 3 CBs he cut are better than everyone in our secondary with the exception of Murphy.  He let Bynum go and replaced him with Metellus who is more of a hybrid LB.  He brought in two DL who are invisible and the CB he really wanted Rodgers is awful.  Flores does great against poor offenses and bad QBs, but can't stop a good offense.  So beyond overrated and I don't appreciate the comment.  I have been a Viking fan and football fan long enough to have my own educated decision without having some BS remark about it.

Same.  Our D has been lights out since getting Gink back.  DBs are playing well.  QBs are struggling to find any rhythm.

When did Flores become GM?  I doubt he gave the blessing to let Bynum go.

If any other team beat the Packers like that I would have loved it. But it's so hard for me to enjoy a Bears, Lions or Packers win unless maybe we need it to help with our playoff picture. And this year ain't that.

I would have been much happier with a tie, so both teams could go home disappointed.

6 games without a p passing TD = impressive and rare.

This is exactly what I’m talking about.

Vikings go 6 games without giving up a passing TD, something that hasn’t been done in 37 years, and they do this against the best offense in the NFL…not to mention Sam Darnold, Jayden Daniels and Jordan Love. And all Vikings fans can talk about is how shitty Brian Flores is.

Yeah, this Flores criticism is just oh so fandom at its silliest. I mean, Minnesota is one game away from Detroit and 2ish from Green Bay in a year where JJ struggled badly early on and the team gave away wins. If Minnesota would have held on to beat Chicago the last time they played, they'd have a shot at the playoffs right now. But injuries are back on the offensive line and Ryan Kelly really needs to retire sadly.

If JJ's hand is hurting and bothering him, you can't play him. Its his throwing hand. I think PF mentioned it, I have zero interest in watching the last two games if McCarthy is out. Problem is its a quick turnaround this week and so I'll put JJ's return as the last game of the year.

I think they win the division.

But it's also been a horseshoe up their asz kinda year...Sometimes s hit just falls your way in those close, 1 score, walk-off situations (cough, 2024 Vikings, cough)

Yah, I think there is very little chance he plays on a quick turn-around week. If there's a fracture? For sure they'll shelve him for the remaining 2.

Kinda surprised we havent heard anything yet....

And THIS is the difference between being 7-9 and 13-4 in the NFL.   I remember in 1977 opening day hosting Dallas, a team EVERYONE made the odds on favorite to win the Super Bowl (and they did in convincing fashion beating up Craig Morton and the Denver Broncos.   This was the year Tarkenton broke his leg.   The Vikings lost to Dallas 16-10 in OT, the Bears 10-7.   Both games lost in the final minutes.   Had that team won those games and seriously could have, they finish 11-3.   The Vikings are the #1 seed in the NFC playoffs.   THAT is how close the league REALLY is.   Teams like the '84 Niners, '85 Bears, '98 Vikings, '99 Rams don't come by very often.   I think I could find agreement with most here the Vikings sitting at 7-8 right now GAVE away the Steeler game, the Eagles game, the Ravens game, AND the Bears game.   That is 4 games.   Had they flipped them the Vikings are now 11-4.   Vikings win just half of them they are 9-6 and fighting for a playoff spot.
If they finish 9-8 just think of what could have been.   Just a bad year like 1972, 1989, 2010, 2013, 2024.  Bad luck, key injuries and losing games in weirdest and most heart breaking fashion.  Ugh. 2013 especially, coming off a 10-6 playoff season, the Vikings go 5-10-1. If my memory serves correctly the Vikings lost to the Bears in Chicago 30-31 on a TD pass with :10 on the clock, lost to Cleveland on a TD pass with :51 seconds on the clock, lost to Dallas on a TD pass with :35 seconds on the clock, lost to the Ravens on a TD pass with :04 on the clock, gave up a tie to Green Bay with :46 left on the clock. The 2013 Vikings should have been could have EASILY been 11-5. Crazy how razor thin the margin in the NFL is between victory and defeat, playoffs and going home. Even in the Vikings 4 Super Bowl defeats, of which I watched the latter 3 live and watched SB IV on youtube, the Vikings losses in all four hinged on 4 maybe 5 plays in each game.
