Rams > Darnold
I don't know what it is, but the Rams sure have Darnolds number. If nothing else, this game right here is why I am glad we decided to give McCarthy a try over paying Darnold even 33 million.
Good Lord, as I posted this, the game turned on a dime....

Well, nm, congrats Sammy D!
Wow! What a game. Sammy came through.
Lol. Fun game
Great job Darnold coming back after it looked like he was going to get shut down by the Rams again. So much for the narrative that he can't win a big game. We are playing for a playoff spot right now had we kept him.

Yea, that one aged like milk left out on a hot sunny day.
Why isn't Chuck Foreman in the Hall of Fame?
Darnold made a clutch throw at the end, and was mediocre for the night:
2 ints
41.7 QBR
84.2 passer rating
My $$ would have been on the Rams all the way - no Davante made a difference.
But you know what they say about ifs and buts...
Hurry-up Vikings, we ain't getting any younger!

What a ride, that's entertainment baby! Uncle Sammy did what he does but turned it around at the end. Stafford threw for 457 yards and lost, lol. The media is going to be crowning today. The NFL has go to be loving what was probably the best Thursday night game I can remember watching.
TNF has been pretty solid this year in general.
Also, while having to own 14 different streaming services to watch games is annoying-- I will say the 4K PQ on TNF (Amazon Prime), SNF (Peacock), and the stray Netflix game has been much appreciated by this fan/tv snob. Long overdue but still, nice to see and enjoy.

I am rooting for Sammy D. Going to be rooting for Seattle in the playoffs.
To me the path looks pretty paved for Philly to get there again but yeah, if they falter the NFC really is wide open. AFC too. Wish the Vikings were a part of it but it'll be great entertainment regardless.

Yeah, Seattle may have won this one, but I wouldn't feel good with paying Darnold 100 mil for that type of game.

Yeah, me neither. Uncle Sammy still makes Uncle Sammy mistakes. He's a beautiful thrower of the pigskin, but I still maintain he's a bed wetter in aggregate big moments. JJ, even with all of the raw rookie moments, still has had game winning drives, divisional road wins and big 4th down moments already. In what, 8 games started? The moment will never be too big. I think with that and his obvious physical talent, maybe the team gets somewhere finally they've never been. Maybe. Long way to go yet obviously. But he's only 22....and I think his confidence has never been higher as a pro as it is right now.
JMO, but next year, I think he's going to grab the QB1 job with both hands and never look back.
I am with you. And for my sanity and that of the rest of Viking fandom, I hope you are right.

Yeah Sammy D will shit the bed until he takes the next step. He has shown he can be a top QB in this league, I would have loved if he could have taken that step last year buts that’s all water under the bridge at this point. I’m definitely rooting for him in the PO’s.
Seattle has to be over the moon with what they've gotten from Sam Darnold. Seattle has the best record in the NFC and just beat the team many thought were the best team in the NFL. They're paying Darnold $33M per, which ranks 18th among QBs.

i didnt actually watch the game, but what I saw from the highlights it wasnt so much Seattle beating the Rams, it was more like the Rams lost to Seattle. That backwards pass hitting the defender in the head and casually picked up by an offensive player for the conversion just screams case keenum's horseshoe.

I think 3 times the Rams were in the red zone and had to settle for field goals that game...But yah, I suspect Darnold has delivered on the high end of their expectations Yr1 with the team.
One of those feel good win/wins for player and team - especially if you like the Seahawks.

He still can't process what's in front of him at NFL speed. That's never changed and it's why he throws so many bad balls at bad times. It's unlikely he ever takes a team past the early rounds of the playoffs.
Give him credit for stepping up from years of awful to being serviceable and landing himself a nice contract, but the big pressure moments mostly look the same to me. He did do a nice job in the comeback but I think the momentum from the punt return td mostly carried the team to an improbable comeback. Up until then the Rams were outclassing them everywhere but once that boulder got rolling downhill they couldn't seem to stop it.
