Vikings @ Giants
Vikings get yet another less-than-stellar defense this week. Giants have as much talent on their front as anyone, with Dexter Lawrence in the middle and Burns and Carter outside, but their achilles is stopping the run. They rank bottom five in that category. I look for the Vikings to get back to the ground in this one.
My fantasy QB Jaxon Dart has had a surprisingly good year and he's going to frustrate the hell out of us when he runs the ball, but this is exactly the kind of QB Flores typically confuses. Giants are a sneaky team. They beat the Chargers, played the Broncos to a 1-point finish and had one-score losses to the Lions, Packers and Bears, so this is no gimme. Weather doesn't look like it will be a factor at 50 degrees and sunny.

They were today. But the Vikings defense had a lot to do with that. 6th game without a passing TD given up. Jaxon Dart had 283 yards and 4 TDs in Denver. 200 yards, 3 TDs, 0 INTs against 49ers. 242 yards, 2 TDs against the Bears. Passer rating over 90 in all three games.
Today: 33 yards, 0 TDs, 1 INT, 5 sacks for a passer rating of 27.3. Vikings needs to give Brian Flores a fat new contract.
Seriously let the market dictate what he is worth. This was the fucking Giants a 2 win team Flores was going up against. I think he is overrated as a DC based on his soft coverage zones he likes to play leaving the middle of the field wide open many times. Too many times teams move the ball freely between the 20 yard lines only to surrender a field goal when the field gets shorter and more congested. Just like Zimmers defense when he would fill the A gaps only to back off with the snap, teams figured out how to exploit that defense. Same thing is starting to happen with the Flores defense. Change can be good.

We'll all be waiting to hear on this...Is he done for the season or can he play the last 2 games?
Not sure with Metacarpal?
Sounds like metacarpal fracture would be a 12-week recovery. If'n that's what it is. The kid can't keep missing snaps. I think the Vikings feel like they have their QB, but they'd be fools for not bringing in a top-level backup, given the fact that JJ will have missed all or part of 27 of 34 games .
J.J. McCarthy had his right hand in a fingerless glove in the locker room. The #Vikings QB will have further testing tomorrow, a source said, but he appears to have avoided a broken bone.

I don't think the way the defense played was a surprise to anybody considering the opponent and the way the defense has played the last month. I haven't seen this defense get puched in the mouth since the Chargers game. We've certainly lost games since then, but the defense has kept us in all of them. Flores's contract is up after the season and it will be interesting to see what he decides to do. He'll have plenty of options and could take a DC position elsewhere.
Vikings are the first team in 37 years to not give up a passing TD in six straight games.

I heard more than once that he and his family love it here...We'll see, I dont think he's out of the woods enough with his lawsuit to get more than a HC interview or two at this point.
Wishful thinking by me who's starved for aNy good football news in 26.

Which is amazing and will help BFlo in any avenue he pursues.

I wonder (if there are no broken bones) that means he can play (and play well?) the remaining 2????
I really have ZERO interest in this team anymore if 9 isnt getting reps.
Hurry-up Vikings, we ain't getting any younger!

This game was really worst case scenario all the way around. Up and down for McCarthy, he gets hurt again, and we have an incomplete grade sheet on him. I like some of what I've seen from him, but is it enough with the injury concerns (yes, it's officially a concern at this point) to go into next season with him as your bona-fide starter? I don't think it is. So, at the tail end of year two, we still have no idea what we have in him as a starter other than he's a guy who continues to have s plethora of injuries. Just a shitty, shitty situation to be in heading to the offseason.
As far as actually winning this game, about as worthless of a win as it gets. Can't wait to draft 16th.

It is a worse case with the injuries and probable incomplete (as you say) grade on JJM
Down to #14 as of today and after rattling off 3 wins
This is a very beat-up team heading into Lions/Packers
If we have Brosmer behind center and that beat up of an OL????
Yeesh...
Hurry-up Vikings, we ain't getting any younger!

This is awful football. Giants are just total dogshit

After they had like 70 yards on the ground and then dialed up the pass more often than not... I have to agree, sure Flores made some adjustments, but they still had some nice runs with terrible pass plays mixed in the rest of the game.
Why isn't Chuck Foreman in the Hall of Fame?

He has been evaluated for concussions multiple times this year, that is concerning

Not sure what to garner from this game, JJ did decently until hurting his hand. Weird game plan from the Giants and Dart. Not sure if its me or not but the injuries all across the NFL seem up.

It was the most obvious tanking I've seen in the NFL in a minute.
BFlo is amazing and I'll sing his praises all day. The defense played great. But the Giants are tanking and it showed.
On the final Aaron Jones run to ice the game I'd have bet almost anything he'd run right up the middle on one leg and get the first. And it's not because of our dominant run game.
The JJ McCarthy injury was max level deflating for me. The Vikings have won 3 straight games, and I kinda hate it here.
