The bad news:  we had a severe cold snap over the weekend that froze up my automatic waterers for the horses.  I set about figuring out the problem, which I thought was a GFCI breaker.
As I was texting my electrician back and forth during the first half of the game, he suggested that it was usually the actual heating element, which was an easier fix.

After Max's first interception, I left to go get the replacement part from the local farm & ranch supply store.
I'm glad I did not wait.  So I didn't see the second half live.  Thankfully.

The Good news: I spent the rest of the afternoon fixing the automatic waterer.
My horses are happy and well watered now.

But I cannot do this anymore...not for a while.
I can only afford to take a peek with one eye to maybe check a score or stats.  This is just not fun.

The wheels have fallen off this wagon.
I had believed that he could not do worse than JJM.  He did.
I felt bad for Max.  I feel bad for now departing Adam Thielen.
I gotta take a break.

I am happy that I still have a college football team to root for (FCS playoffs...go Griz).

I acknowledge that I lived in Colorado for ten years and went to multiple Bronco games and my daughter and her family are avid Bronco fans (with the Vikings as #2 with a nod to me).  And I can pull for Bo Nix who I had loudly advocated here during last year's draft.

But I just can't do this anymore.  I like y'all, and will likely take a peek back here from time to time, but my head hurts from banging it against a brick wall.

This is a very trying year for the fans and the team...Might be the worst since Frazier was studying the tape. Or, it could go back to (dare I say) Steckel?

Give yourself the grace and gift of a break if you need it lol!

I did by shutting off the game at interception #3.

Hurry-up Vikings, we ain't getting any younger!

You encapsulated my feelings exactly.

I get it - fan since the '70's.
I check the score, stats, but stress levels dictate I just can't watch or I'll go SPLAT !

Yup. The defense is still fun to watch. But they wear down and teams don't need to take any deep drops when our offense can't even threaten to score.

I watched this one to see if it was just JJ, would Max do any better. Nope. It is the coaching then.

I watched the two before this just to see if maybe they would insert Brosmer at some point. So much for that thought. I may wait until I hear JJ played well in a game. Hard for me not to watch though. It's a long term addiction/ habit and I've been through more than a few trying seasons. This one may have been the worst from a fan perspective. So much promise on paper and a historic flop. Probably the reason I haven't referred to the Vikings as we in years. They failed. I still support them!

If there isn’t changes at the end of the season there’s going to be full blown mutiny. KOC will flat out lose the locker room if KAM is back.

My take is:

They want to get paid
They want to win
They want to stay healthy

And I may have the order wrong.

First and foremost, they'll be looking to see what the QB plan is for 26 and not necessarily who the GM is?? I really believe 94% of the problem is at QB and this team was poised to be quite competitive heading into 25 with even avg qb play.

The team stinks. I'll still be watching.

There's plenty of room for you along the Wall whenever the team gives you a reason to return to your station, OP.

I live in-town, but one of those automatic Horse waterers  sound like a more productive way to spend a Sunday afternoon.  I thought i had forgotten Kelly Holcomb and Brooks Bollinger, no this years team brings it all back.

Throw Spurgen Wynn in just to complete the trip down repressed memory lane.

I'm not watching anymore games this year. Its the worst Viking's football I've watched in maybe forever? I don't have the desire nor will to watch it. Don't blame you at all, Tom. My hope was JJ and until he gets better, I'm done for the year. I guess I should say IF he gets better.

If miracles happen, today you can watch the game in a myriad of ways after the fact. Highlights galore everywhere. I've reduced my intake of sports social media easily by about 70% the last 5 weeks.

I am glad I have more than 1 sport to watch. It is going to be brutal next year too. I had no expectations for this year but I could not have anticipated this enormous shit show. Oh well

I think if you're a "one before I die" person, I definitely understand the need to take a break. That's not really me, so I'll continue to watch the games, much like I do preseason games, watching the performances of some of the younger players. Mostly JJ, but also Jurgens, who somehow graded at an elite level in both run and pass blocking in Seattle. Can he put two games together like that? Can Turner? LDR?

Just curious who the players are who are going to represent the core of this team moving in to 2026. And who are the players we likely won't bring back because the salaries do not match the performance? And what are the positions we should be focused on in the draft? Vikings will likely be picking top 10, but also have a legit shot at picking top 5.

Yeah, like last week, I watch without expectation now.  Makes the misery easier to bear.  I do enjoy watching Ginkel, Redmond and Harrison.  Cashman was a tackling machine again.

As to bring back, I think the edge is well worth the money.  Gink is the straw that stirs Flores's cocktail.  I think Greenard is very good, but he hasn't been able to complete the sack this year, with his hits and pressures going to someone else for the finish.  Redmond needs a pay upgrade.  Take Allen's bundle and give it to JR.  I think Murphy and Rodgers are fine, need an upgrade at safety and 3rd DB.  Cashman and Wilson are solid.

Thor did a pretty good breakdown today on the roster heading into 2026. Likely cuts, salary cap, who he seems being retained, biggest positions of need, and even throws in some draft stuff at the end with a mock draft.

I saw this posted on Reddit:

When I die, I want some Vikings to be my pallbearers.

That way, they can let me down one last time.

I'm done with this season.  42 years and soooo much time wasted following this team.  I'm going to go surf or ride my dirtbike on Sunday vs watching this mess of a team.

I'll be a much happier person internally which will be good for my health and my marriage ;)

Still need interior OL and DL, a QB, a RB with break away speed etc...

IMO sell the farm. Get a haul for JJ and Addison.  Rebuild. Dump all the big vet contracts and try to get draft picks for Cashman, Van Gink & Greenard.  Bring in a new FO who can get more return on our draft picks.  Aim for a run in 2028 or so. Have 2-3 low in seasons as we rebuild. JJM is not the answer. He was in a run heavy offense in MI and when he did pass it was normally to WR's with one guy covering because the box was stacked against the run.

That's rational thinking, but the Wilfs will never let that happen. Their goal every year is simply to make the playoffs, not to build a roster capable of winning the Super Bowl...but to make the playoffs. Judd just confirmed this as their philosophy on his podcast after years of covering the team. The Wilfs are a joke who have no fucking clue what they are doing, but as long as the money keeps flowing in, they don't give a shit. I've been a fan of this team for 40 years, but if this season continues down this path, and the idiot owners don't make significant changes to fix their mistakes with competent people, then I also might just find better ways to spend my Sunday's going forward

Out of the 4 Minnesota franchises I believe the Timberwolves and Wild are closer to getting to a finals than the Twins and Vikings. The last finals were the Twins in 1991 then the Twins again in 1987, and then the Vikings in 1976.
