Count me in as a curiousity seeker here.
Sorta like people go to NASCAR races to see crashes.
It can't be worse.

What do I expect? A lot of quick hitches, and high percentage passes early on to build confidence/rhythm.

I also expect Max to grab ahold of the opportunity to differentiate himself from JJM's issues. If he's making reads faster, hitting touch passes, and avoiding the same problems plaguing his teammate...he would be very likely to get another start, and a whole different career trajectory.

The rest of the team can, hopefully, capitalize on familiarity with Darnold more than the reverse. If the defense AND offense are both productive and complementing, the team is dangerous again.

BUT, this will be real games with real starters, so we'll see what Max has. I think a flash of positivity can work some wonders, just as more disappointment could really kill the fading hopes for the season.

KOC, JJM, Flores...make a good plan, or you'll be following Kwesi....

I think we will see the ball coming out faster, more accuracy and the offense will be sparked and the WRs will be energized. While I think we will see an improvement and better QB play, I also think we will see rookie mistakes. Think a big part of his success will ride on defense keeping it close, so we can keep the offense balanced.

You beat me to it.

I think his game has shown a quick read,  quicker release and that fits better into a pro game than what weve seen from JJM,  but i also think his lack of high level competition will show some flaws to his game.  I expect a better performance,   but likely a similar ultimate result.

I don't have that much desire to expect something and then be disappointed. Chalk me up as just letting whatever happens happens.

I expect many of the same things already mentioned.
The team will respond and play much better, it will look day and night. Bosmer will play good enough to give everyone hope. Bosmer will be the starter for the rest of the season. The organization will spin things so not to hurt the delicate flower of JJM. Players will passive aggressively let the organization know that they want someone who gives them a chance.

Win or loose I think Brosmer will show better touch on his throws, so less drops.  JJM brought to mind Chuck Knobloch having the Yips so bad in NY.  Looked it up 26 throwing errors to 1st, in one year. Ran across this great clip of Keith Olbermanns mom getting beaned on a ricochet off the dugout roof.

I honestly expect a return to a more typical rookie QB performance. So plenty of mistakes and nothing special, but something more along the lines of what we've seen from Ward, Dart, etc than what we saw from JJ.

Reading this it sounds like people think Brosmer is either better than JJ or is a better fit for this offense.
I am sorry to say I don’t agree with that.

Thats where my head is at too...

I'm hoping a week off gives McCarthy a chance to re-ground/re-center himself some. There is still a lot of football for him to grind through THIS YEAR

I see where KOC/JJM were co-turkeys of the year in the Strib for 2025. I thought it was kinda gutless to throw the 22 year old into that vs just KOC.

The award should have gone to the Pohlads/Twins - by far.

Hurry-up Vikings, we ain't getting any younger!

He throws a quick release tight spiral that's accurate , especially 15 yards in. Hard to gauge because he hasn't played, but he looked crisp and sharp in preseason.

When I squint my eyes he resembled cousins in his throwing motion and accuracy. I can see why Vikings want to see what he has.

Every take I've heard on his game says he's got high end football IQ.

After the way this year has gone, wouldn't be completely Vikingesque to somehow get a win in Seattle with a rookie undrafted fee agent QB? Hope so

Don't expect too much, no reason for disappointment on my part.

Don't know if I've seen his "preseason highlights" shared, lately. He seems to have better touch and vision, but he was also playing against scrubs...so:

KOC, JJM, Flores...make a good plan, or you'll be following Kwesi....

If he can hit a RB in the flat he will be better than JJM has been this year.  JJ has a better pedigree,  likely more athletic,  has faced better talent,  played in bigger games... but has lost the mental ability to play the position,  he may find it again,  but hes not going to find it if he's on the field getting booed all the time,  which is happening.

The main question is if he plays much better than JJ is KOC humble enough to let him keep the job?

This is good advice. What other choice do you have? You can't make anything happen. I am hoping that Brosmer shows us something to be excited about.

He better be or he will lose the locker room. Jefferson will ask for a trade and the defense will quit (it can get worse).

What do I expect? Lemme think...

A patchwork OL half of which are walking wounded, Frustrated WR's / TE, A special teams unit that will give the Seahawks another series or great field position, Screens that don't work, A lot of punts, Reichard will be our leading scorer, Questionable play calling / clock management, no changes after the half, and a game plan that doesn't adapt to a QB's learned skillset.

Did I miss anything?
