If anybody cares...Vikings currently have the 14th pick.

One nugget of interest, if the season ended today, the Rams would have a top 10 pick from Atlanta (yes that same Falcons unit that dog walked the Vikings) for the James Pearce trade. That Rams organization is just a well run unit from top to bottom.

Not to add more bad news, but with Atlanta at 3-7, they sit at #8 in the 2026 draft, and stand a pretty good chance of rising even higher with the news about Penix. They're one game away from the 2nd overall pick and two games away from the 1st overall pick.

Problem is, they traded this pick to move up last year. This pick now belongs to the 8-2 Rams. Oy veh.

It's why the Rams are a well run unit from the top down, and the Vikings are uh, well...challenged in all areas. And you know the Rams will knock that pick out of the park. Snead is one of the best drafting GM's in the league, even during his "f them picks" era.

Matt Miller at ESPN just posted his new mock. I'd be pretty pissed if we passed on Jeremiah Love for a guy who has 2 sacks on the season, so book Kwesi and Grigson to make it happen

Minnesota Vikings' analyst offers "hot take" that lands as lukewarm

Monday's episode of SKOR North's "Purple Daily" started with "hot takes" after the loss to the Bears, and co-host Judd Zulgad wasted no time in offering up something that will land as a scorcher.

"Kwesi Adofo-Mensah and Ryan Grigson will not be with the Vikings this spring to run the draft", Zulgad said.

I think somebody's gonna take the fall. Somebodies, perhaps, are going to take the fall for this season. The reality is right now, the Vikings, I believe are going to have about 10 draft picks in April.

The drafting so far has shown nothing in the way of 'hey you know what, you've done a great job, you're bringing in a lot of young talent here."

We could only hope, but again, how stupid does that make the Wilfs look after just extending Kwesi? We know they are stupid when it comes to football decisions, but that would be a pretty public self admission of it. But yeah, the best thing they could do is strip those dopes of having anything to do with the draft. Wilfs have nobody to blame but themselves

Didnt Grigson get the extension and or promo last year along with KAM?

The problem goes beyond KAM, Andrew Miller is a problem as well.

I know we're just coming off a 14 win season (which was a blast).

But this team hasn't won in the post-season since 1/5/2020 vs Saints and Kirk was dropping dimes that day. Thats going on 6 years ago soon.

Hurry-up Vikings, we ain't getting any younger!

In the 21 years the Wilfs have owned the organization we are 3-8 in the playoffs and haven't seen back to back postseason's since 2008-2009. If the Wilfs were smart, they'd take the decision making out of their own hands and bring in actual football people to make the decisions. Hell, bring in Bill Polian as a consultant in finding and hiring a new general manager and go from there. The Wilfs are a tick above Woody Johnson in knowing what the hell they are doing as owners and after 21 years of ineptitude, you'd hope they'd figure that out

I read Judd's latest column and he makes it out like the Wilf's were "sold a bill of goods" by Kwesi and company, almost like they were hoodwinked. It's hard to be hoodwinked when you are responsible for the hoodwinking and hired a guy, who anybody with an ounce of common sense, knew had no business being hired for the position he was given. The Wilfs need to give up the reigns because while they may be good businessmen in the world of New York real estate, they don't know shit about the game of football or building a championship caliber team and have proved that over a period of 20+ years.

I would like to have read the whole article...I appreciate about a third of what Zulgad waxes about.

I dont think Mark/Zygi would have an issue letting someone go under contract. They paid Chili a fortune kicking him to the curb.

Unless this teams goes completely off the rails (i.e. 5 wins) I won't hold my breath for major front office changes. At least not this year.

Just my opinion (and people can hate on it all they like- cue up Zanary), but we aren't making the playoffs this year anyway, so best case scenario is McCarthy takes some steps forward and we lose a majority of these games down the stretch if that's what it takes to get Kwesi/Grigson canned. I don't think we can truly take a step towards real contendership without removing the main issue in the failure first, so if that means losses, so be it. We can't take another year or two of draft whiffs and frivilous spending on older veterans trying to attone for those draft whiffs. This is likely obvious to everyone but the Wilfs unfortunately, who will likely pander to their DEI hire and "competitive rebuild" model for another year or two before we really bottom out as a team and changes are finally made. Wilfs gonna Wilf...

I find your take here so far outside of the reality of what I see with my own two eyes.

I feel like we’re so close to winning that if JJM plays just slightly better, we’re winning many more games and back to where everyone thought we should have been, and find you here wanting to blow everything up, fire everyone, tank for draft picks, etc. 5 games into JJM’s career.

Comparing the Wilfs to Woody Johnson is laughable … LAUGHABLE!  The Vikings are widely regarded as one of the most well run organizations.  The Vikings record since they hired Kwesi and KOC is 46-32.  The Jets in the same time frame are 25-53.  You’re comparing one of the teams with the best records in that time frame to one of the worst.

This season hasn’t panned out like anyone in MN has expected (but we’re lining up pretty well with what the Vegas oddsmakers predicted we would do).  Both KOC and Kwesi will undoubtedly be retained for next year.

I'm looking at it as big picture because I don't believe the competitive rebuild has worked. It's hard to make much of anything work when you so continually whiff on draft picks and I don't see that changing under this regime.

And in that Kwesi time frame the Jets have won the same amount of playoff games as the Vikings....zero!! That's right folks...zero! Regular season success is great, but wake me when this regime wins a post season game

Firing everyone and rebuilding is such a catch-22 though. The teams with the most playoff wins since 2000 all have stability. If KAM gets ousted, which I don't think he will, then I guess the reports about KO having more control after his contract extension will come to fruition, whether they were true initially or not.

Much more likely we get a scouting dept overhaul than KAM get outright canned. He's made some nice signings and trades over the years and Donovan Jackson looks like a hit (we won't go into the rest of the picks...).

I agree but you have to get it right in the first place and the Wilfs did not get it right in taking a wild swing at a guy with a clearly lacking resume, experience, and that no other teams were seriously looking at. It's better to just admit the mistake and make the appropriate changes instead of trudging forward in futility, because if we continue at the current rate, we are going to be a cash strapped team lacking in quality young talent and a predominant celler dweller in the division for years to come. This is why I say, the number #1 job of a GM is to identify young talent in the draft because it's the lifeblood of an organization. Instead we hired the guy with no scouting background whatsoever, no playing experience whatsoever, and are asking him to hit on picks in the draft based off spreadsheets and the advice of Grigson. Lol. It's literally the stupidest thing ever.

To me this is the worst part of the situation which is why I'd start there and try to fix it, before firing the entire front office. I'd give KAM one more year with a new apprentice who isn't Grigson and see what happens. But I get your point-- a GM who can't draft is like a poker player who can't bluff. You can still win but it's hard.

I think you just clean house totally. Kwesi-gone, Grigson- gone, Andrew Miller- gone, scouting staff- revamped. Bring in someone with an actual successful scouting background to run the operation. I'd look at teams who have been successful drafting no matter where in the draft they are picking. Nolan Teasley in Seattle is someone I'd have high interest in. John McKay with the Rams would be another. The Wilfs need to dig in more when hiring instead of just going with whatever "hot name" the media is floating or whomever Goodell tells them to hire.

Care to revisit your statement above after the shit sandwich today against Green Bay? Might want to get those eyes checked out..
