A cool or cold & dark midwest night
The crunch and smell of leaves and autumn.
The thrill of the new costume, counting and consuming candy...
Best of all for me? The scary movies and stuff that goes bump in the night.

I like Halloween parties. One year I was Kit, the Magnetic Poet. Very interactive. Another year I was Auntie Em(inem). My favorite though was when I ran out of ideas and went and got a way-too-small kid costume from Walmart. All 6-2 of me standing there in a ripped-to-fit costume meant for a 6-year-old. "What are you?" "I’m a panda, dammit."
