Well, here's another thing to ponder but did we make the right decision for this season not signing Aaron Rodgers to be our QB? I know this year is about seeing what we have in McCarthy, but thusfar those results have not been good and I'd really like to see this team do something in the playoffs. I think it's safe to say we'd be a better team at this point with Rodgers.
The whole premise of getting JJ up to speed with a team built to win now is/was flawed. The fact that they’re working on core principles is dumbfounding. Watching Darnold and Jones flourish while we slog through with Wentz is maddening.
Like the man said “same as it ever was, same as it ever was, same as it ever was”…
“Hell is empty and all the devils are here”
Shakespeare
What's crazy was reading the news this morning from national sources that the team was going to run with Wentz the rest of the way while JJM would sit and learn. In what universe does 12 games of Carson Wentz buy anything for this franchise? it's fucking insane. These guys are paid millions to coach and manage a team and they can't figure out who he is? There's 9 years of tape in the vault and he's on his 6th team in 6 years. He's a journeyman backup who maybe can go .500 if he has to play a few games and everything else goes right. It's just pure lunacy to decide you're going to play him the rest of way if that report was accurate.
And if so it also says they don't know what they're doing with JJM or really in general with the franchise. Is the kid just some FAFO experiment now? Buying all these free agents for a win-now type season was done why, exactly? Well anyway, welcome to the NFCN cellar. Not optimistic about a west coast road trip on 3 days rest.

You know better than to believe everything you read. How would that make any sense? I mean, at what point did Wentz ever look so amazing that a coach would be compelled to do that? I also read from the local and national reporters that 'don't be surprised if Brett Rypien is QB2'. Riiiiight. JJ's had a serious sprained ankle that KOC doesn't want to rush, that obviously doesn't really jive with a fanbase waiting to see him play. KOC is ready to bail on a kid he's pushed all his chips in with after 2 games....one in which he won?
Wentz started the Cincy game where they got like what, 5 turnovers?....and online fickle and naive Viking Nation thought they had a 'hot hand'. lol. The bottom line is the team was a bit overrated coming into this season, especially the offensive line. I've said this for the last 2 months: this wasn't a Porsche that JJ was being lowered into the driver's seat into.
Dimes, Uncle Sammy and even Rodgers are playing very well. The teams they are on its turn out are BETTER than the Vikings. I don't think that was even a possible consideration that that might be true before the season started.

3/3 vs 4/2?
Thats a big psychological difference for lots of fans.
I know we're only 6 games into 17, but .500 is a place I just dont like at all...I thought nine was the floor for this squad, we'll see. Injuries are clouding everything.
Hurry-up Vikings, we ain't getting any younger!

Its those kinda games that can drive a fan nuts - and are typical of .500 teams.

Imo the vague way the HC has publicly discussed the situation opens the door to speculation. And it was Albert Breer who at least is legit versus the kinda made up AI shit some guys bring around here.
It doesn't matter because as of now they're playing Wentz until further notice, and getting exactly the guy whose ceiling is mediocre backup that any sane person would expect.

How the hell did we allow Jalen Hurts to hit on all those 3rd and longs and have a perfect passer rating for the entire fucking game!?
That blows my mind because I've watched a bit of the Eagles this year and Hurts at times looked like he couldn't hit the broad side of a barn. The receivers were grumbling that the team had no passing game and the offensive stats were ass.
I think what will happen next year if JJM plays soon/and for the rest of the year and is only so-so, is KOC not give up on him but he'll bring in some competition. Like an Anthony Richardson, Will Levis, etc. Depending on growth, he might include Brosmer in that competition. That would be my guess.

I think JJ would have to play like shit the rest of the year to see us bring in competition. I think KOC is going to trust the process and let JJ develop. Out of 23 weeks, JJ has missed taking starter reps in 21. He needs time, but he mostly needs reps. I think we'll bring in an experienced veteran to compete with Brosmer for QB2. A Mac Jones type.
The longer this madness continues, with JJ hurt, Wentz struggling, and the Vikings losing, while Darnold and Jones light it up elsewhere, the testier and testier KOC's going to become in those press conferences.

And the testier the fan-base will get...
Missing 21 out of 23 starter reps is unfathomable.

Its what the Vikings do. Go back and look at ALL of the journeyman 2nd and 3rd string QBs, rookies, etc. They all seem to have career best games vs the Vikings. Rick Mirer, Trent Dilfer, Chris Weinke, Josh McKown, Cade McNown, Jake Browning, Justin Fields, Trubisky to name a few. Man there are SO MANY.
