Kevin O'Connell has a press conference at 12:30pm today, and if he doesn't waffle on things, it could be one of the more intriguing Vikings pressers in recent memory, given the QB situation and injury statuses all around.
Yeah, lots of Coachspeak. Little definites. Will know more about JJ as 'the week goes on'.

JJ McCarthy, Donovan Jackson, Brian O’Neill and Michael Jurgens will all practice in some capacity for the #Vikings this week, per KOC.

Was the KOC word salad all that you hoped and prayed for?
JustInTime wrote:All true thus far. JJ is a huge question mark and Maye has most certainly played pretty well the last couple of weeks. Its a week to week league, have to hope JJ gets some reps and starts to show why KOC placed trust in him.
To date, including playoffs, JJ has played 2 out of a possible 23 games (not according to PFF). Looks like he’s likely to miss the next two. Some would call that injury prone. Way too early to call him a complete bust. 12 games left. At best he plays 10 of those. If this holds true, he’ll play 12 out of his first 35 games. Fran’s consecutive start streak not in danger. Meanwhile, Drake Maye, local whipping boy, is looking like a rising star. Who knew? Oh yeah, me.

But of course they do, right? ENGAGEMENT. When you know the game, its even more boring watching the sheep eat it up, as its all contrived controversy. And yeah, its mental as hell.
I feel like I’m watching a collective mental illness amongst our fanbase. KOC says like 4 total sentences over the course of a month, and the media and the fanbase extrapolates that into whatever their deepest darkest fears are and pretends like that is reality. Coaches have to talk to the public. It’s in their best interest to not tell their opponents the truth, but they’re forced to tell you something. So they just say generic statements that leave things open ended. This is the ways its been forever. We can just accept it at face value. We don’t need to fill in the gaps, and make ourselves feel shitty in the process.

In his weekly spot w/ @PAOnTheMic, Kevin O'Connell says:
+ Neither J.J. McCarthy (ankle) nor Carson Wentz (shoulder) are 100%
+ Sunday's QB won't be a secret
+ McCarthy "could" return this week if practice goes very well
