I dont know how ready Brosmer is to start or not? You cant teach experience, but you can teach a playbook I guess.

Essentially we started a new qb and discombobulated OL vs Steelers...Thats a bad combo.

I am not advocating to put him in,  but Brosmer seems to be processing a much higher rate and comfort level than what we've seen from JJM or Wentz,  might be a fluke thing,  but its hard to argue with the release times,  granted much smaller sample size for Brosmer.

If I was coaching the Vikings, I would not add the variable of Brosmer into our QB situation if I could avoid it. Especially since McCarthy is seemingly not far off from coming back. Were that not the case I'd be more open to seeing Brosmer out there.

Brosmer's quick release time is the speed of light compared to either Wentz's or JJM's.
I'm not advocating him to replace Wentz right now, coming off a 350 yard game, but the stupid mistakes have to be cleaned up before anything should be contemplated.

Brosmer looked promising in preseason... but there is a BIG difference between that and the speed and players you'll face in the regular season.

No way Brosmer sees the field if JJ McCarthy or Wentz are healthy.

I'm well aware of the difference between preseason and regular season. But I disagree. We didn't lose in Dublin because Carson Wentz is a bad QB. We lost because this is a complex offense scaled down for a new QB, who is missing a lot of reads. 

So yes, I think if Wentz comes out again and is misreading defenses, missing the line calls, missing layup touchdowns, and the Vikings fall behind by a few touchdowns, it would not at all surprise me if KOC takes a half-time, half-court shot on Brosmer—the guy who's been running the offense for 5 months over the veteran who's been running it for 5 weeks. At the end of the day, winning this game is what's important. 

This has nothing to do with JJ McCarthy.

I think the pressure KOC feels is:

Not falling to 2/3 
Not losing 2 in a row
Digesting a loss b4 a bye week
Having to play that Cleveland Dawg D with his OL a mess and a QB who's been in the offense for 28 days.  

World would sure be a lot rosier heading into the Eagles game with a healthier OL, JJM back and at 3/2. Ive also learned not to expect nice things, so there's that.

At the Dawg Pound, Cleveland's D has given up 27 points in two games.
On the road, Cleveland's D has given up 75 points in two games.

The Vikes have been Euro-acclimated for some days, the Browns are leaving a road game for essentially another (long) road game on a shorter week.

Agree with this 100% and think it is something I have not seen get any attention.  Countless times the Vikes ran a play directly into the strength of what the Steelers defense was showing and Wentz never called out of it.  You just can't have a QB who can't read a defense at the line or I am not sure if he is even bothering to look.  Great QB play is not all about making the throws, but what the QB does at the line of scrimmage.  I would think with Wentz's experience he would be more savvy in that area, but I would say that is one the main factors that cost us the game.

I think it's a case of trying to change their momentum: no matter how good their defense is, Flacco is turning the ball over much more than scoring with it, and he is an obvious stopgap. If their season is basically toast, it's best to get the young'un(s) all the reps possible in building for the future.

A certain amount of that mindset exists in our locker room, too. While Wentz has a better ratio of scores/turnovers than Flacco, it's not impressive...and JJM's ability to bounce back from ANOTHER injury along with 7 bad quarters of football is something that needs defining, ASAFP.

I don't think our season's toast, but I think the momentum is fragile after a couple of truly rough showings. If the theoretical bootstraps can be found, this season could end up being heroic for all involved, whereas a complete UK disaster series would have our goal reset to "don't be last in the NFCN".

This has nothing to do with JJ McCarthy.

Respectfully, I'd prioritize finding and developing a true franchise quarterback above winning a week 5 out of conference game in Europe. So to me it all has to do with McCarthy. We can rave over his mental makeup all we want but I gotta think he'd be in a better headspace taking over a 2-3 team with a fanbase clamoring for a savior, than returning to a 3-2 team with a fanbase wondering if you're the worst QB on the roster.

I hate losing games but this isn't the Super Bowl. The only way I'd entertain playing Brosmer is if Wentz is injured. If that happens then we all collectively hope Brosmer balls out and worry about McCarthy later. But again, it's not a scenario I'd court. Even if Wentz stinkz.

Why do people keep bringing up JJ McCarthy? This has NOTHING to do with him. McCarthy is the starting QB when he's healthy. There's no ifs ands or buts about it. But until then we need to find a way to win games, and if that means yanking the ineffective veteran mid-game for the kid who knows the offense a little more, I'm all for it. 

But you don't do it because you're worried about headspaces and fanbases? Because Brosmer might ignite a QB controversy? C'mon.

if by some chance he wins....and looks good in the process,  why woudnt it create some discussion on the matter?  JJM hasnt show much of anything as a pro to suggest that he is a lock.  I agree its still his job to come back to,  but if one of these guys can make the offensive lights come on... I think a longer audition isnt out of the question,  especially if its Brosmer,  we know what to expect from Wentz,  but MB is still a larger question mark.

I dont really care who our QB is,  I just want somebody to step up and make the job theirs.

Or the level of competition.

Wentz has much more experience and even with the lack of time in the offense I think is a much better option.  Coupled with the poor play on the O-line, all you would be doing with Brosmer is potentially ruining him.

The backup QB has always been popular in Minn.  I remember the Wilson/Kramer/Gannon/Salisbury days.
