He's also going to travel with the team overseas, which I think is a smart move. Keep him saturated into the team so he's ready to pop in Week 7. He'll be 100% by that time for sure.
If the O-line is all back together at that time, then he can be evaluated for the next 10 weeks without a sieve at LT. I like this plan. The team should be solidified around him by then. They need an identity, and I think JJ is that identity but all the new moving parts need to mesh more. And less injuries.

Yah, I had the same feeling. But there is a bye in there too...I mean, they gotta play him at some point!

Not sure what QB wouldn't benefit from 5 turnovers and The Saw coming back. KOC has already mentioned the timeframe, so Carson has his chance to play lights out. Then and only then we can discuss.
Not ideal. But if JJ gets the kind of protection, running game and defense that Wentz got yesterday, he should be fine. The real question is, will he even get the opportunity if Wentz continues to play well? Haven't really heard that talk much yet, but it's coming...

Hearing rumblings JJ McCarthy may be back sooner than reported... that jives with the fact that he had already shed the walking boot on Sunday.

KOC mentions his mobility is a nice part of his game he wants to utilize and I agree. But its best to be very close to 100% so the whole JJ playbook can be utilized.
part of me says stay with Wentz until you cant, the other part of me says we have a window with the kid and are already 1 year behind the projected start date so wasting anymore time is absurd. Unless Wentz really cranks it up against the Steelers, I mean like 75%, 300+ and 3 or 4 TDs with only maybe 1 turnover ( pick or fumble) then I think you get the kid back in there as soon as he is ready. Honestly though, looking at our schedule, if he isnt ready for Cleveland, I am really hoping Wentz catches fire and keeps the job for about a month or so. The next 6 games are no joke, considering the first 2 are in who know what field conditions, then home for Philly, and on the road to LA and Detroit, come back for the Ravens at home and then the rematch with the Bears ( thats where I would be most comfortable re-inserting JJM if Wentz is winning, but winning ugly) JJs issues werent just poor blocking IMO, he seemed to be questioning his reads and letting his footwork suffer at times, all part of the process, but this middle part of the schedule doesnt look very conducive to a rookie QBs development.
