Vikings working out Carson Wentz
Interesting...

Agreed....
Only thing I am fairly certain of is Rypien is gone, Brosmer is #3
Hurry-up Vikings, we ain't getting any younger!
Team is obviously not happy with Howell or Rypien. When we traded for Sam Howel—after flirting with the idea of adding Rodgers, Darnold and Daniel Jones as potential backups—I thought that was not at all the kind of backup Kevin O'Connell envisioned for his young QB.
I think it's pretty safe to say that both Howell and Rypien are gone. It would be pretty hard to proceed with confidence knowing your coach is working out your replacement.

You're "probably" right re: Howell, but I don't think its a done deal he's outta here (yet).
We'll know for sure soon.

I think the result will probably be Howell and Rypien will be gone and Wentz will be #2. Brosmer will be the emergency 3rd QB and will be on the 53 man roster but obviously not on the 48 on the active roster. If McCarthy gets injured (God forbid) early in the season before Wentz has time to learn the offense then maybe Brosmer comes in. If it happens later in the season Wentz would play.

Then in that scenario Bromer would have to be the #2 until Wentz is up to speed as the #3 emergency can only play if the #1 & #2 are out for the game IIRC. Unless the #3 is actually active on game day.
Why isn't Chuck Foreman in the Hall of Fame?

Aidan O'Connell just broke his wrist, so he's out 8 weeks and they'll be in the market for a QB. Better sign Wentz if the Vikings are truly looking for someone because of not being satisfied with Howell.
Or maybe we trade them Howell for O'Connell... and sign Wentz until O'Connell is healed and knows the offense, thus fulfilling my prophecy from earlier this off-season.
Bwahahahahaaaa
Maybe going to try to slide Howell through waivers. If Howell gets claimed they've got Wentz waiting in the wings.

Exactly what I was thinking. Great minds think alike~
As I'm from a very NDSU family, I'm kinda glad to see Wentz in the fold.
As a football fan, I remember him flaming out pretty badly as a pro, and I have concerns. Hopefully, time as a bounce-around backup has brought wisdom and humility.
KOC, JJM, Flores...make a good plan, or you'll be following Kwesi....
