Pretty funny that after all the evidence showing what really happened to undermine Trump that people are naive or brainwashed enough to believe 1% of the allegations against him.   Yeah let's look past the attempted one party rule deep state that has tried to drive our country into the ground because a single man had the guts to take it on and win.  Simpletons and sheeple virtue signalers on xanax each day hold the moral high ground.  It's crazy that football fans would not want to see wokeness displays while scoping out good looking cheerleaders.  I mean at least 10% of the public loves all the woke agenda infiltrating every aspect of our society.  Silly MAGA appreciating the good things we have in life and understanding that wokeness is a cult and that shining a flashlight on it tends to make it go away.  By the way, what do you go by he/she/they/them??  Check out AOC's profile and see how popular all of that bs has become.  And to counter, the people clutching pearls right now aren't MAGA, they're the same people that constantly accuse the other side of being and doing exactly what they are.  You know the ones who really wanted one party rule, are really racist, and are really the huge minority of people in this country.  If Libs don't have free stuff and virtue signaling, they really have nothing.

Which means this is being done to send a message, not because of fan demand.  The only thing I agree with is that it's not an issue to lose sleep over.  Calling it out is fine.  It is what it is and it's indicative of those on the left keeping an ember going during a torrential downpour.  This is an issue they'll never win but will help them lose elections for years to come.  It also gives the self-righteous on the left glimmers of hope in their traumatized world.

I agree with you in a broader sense.  The problem I have is that the left is moving batshit crazy left, while Trump has brought the Republicans to the center already.  Meeting in the middle isn't an alternative anymore.   Left to their own direction, the left wants illegal immigrants overrunning the country so that they can institute one party rule.  They don't care who's damaged on their way to doing so.  They take senseless positions like supporting Hamas and the LGTBQ movement even though Hamas would murder them on site in most cases.  

To this point, who can look at the two new cheerleaders and honestly say they aren't trying to send a message?  lol  It's disingenuous to say any different.  I've said it since the beginning of the thread, it's not one of my big worries in life at this point in time.  I will also say it's ridiculous and could spark backlash needlessly.  It's already made the Vikings an online joke.  So, it's not truly totally harmful or harmless at this point in time, but people criticizing it have every right to do so. 

Finally, anyone that doesn't have cynicism after seeing what happened in this country over the last ten years predominantly as a result of a big lie conducted by one party is oblivious.  I say this respectfully to you knowing we disagree politically.  I think your views are genuine, but you are the exception, not the rule in terms of liberals that honestly want to progress dialogue.

it is hard to look at college male cheerleaders that are out there and then compare them to those that the Wilfs have added and think its the same thing, because it isn't. The male cheerleaders that I see when watching Saturday football have a pretty masculine roll on the cheer team, they are doing lifts and throws, and the physical strength part of the routines. What I've seen of the Vikings newest additions are not likely the strongest on our teams cheer squad of women.

its the Wilfs team, if they want to turn it into some social statement for political purposes... its their prerogative, but I dont think fans have to sit back and just eat it either, if they are pissed off they are free and justified to voice their dis-pleasure and the best way to do that is to do it with their check book. quit watching, quit buying, but if somebody isnt willing to do those things, then they likely shouldnt bother bitching either. True story.  As I was finishing up reading your post and giving a thumbs up, my smart ass nephew who never text texted me a picture of one of our new cheerleaders and gave me the business. lol  It goes to show that it can do damage to perceptions.  This WILL fall short of a Bud Light situation, but it undeniably is going to generate negative buzz at best and piss off some of the fan base at worst.

I was out with a (very liberal) friend of mine last night and he brought it up because he knows I'm a Vikings fan. I said I thought it was ridiculous but it was what it was. He began the whole liberal gaslight argument that there have been male cheerleaders forever...including people like Reagan. He was angry at the "MAGA" crowd for making a big deal out of this. I asked him if he'd actually seen the introduction of the cheerleaders video. He hadn't. I showed him the intro video with their new lead cheerleader. He broke into laughter and said "well...that's gay as hell".

As Jimmy said, there's a big difference from male cheerleaders who do the lifts and maybe a tumbling run or two (or in Reagan's case...cheer into a megaphone) and what's going on in the league. It's not just the Vikings.

Yah, I posted the Alabama male cheerleaders earlier to make the very point. 

There was a read in local paper re: the mom of one of the male cheerleaders. She's obviously very sad about the outrage. 

The line (for some) that was crossed is that these male cheerleaders are actually dancing and not doing acrobatic feats of strength and prowess - which we're used to and comfortable with. 

For some, thats too much, for others? They could give a crap. 

As a marketer, Im not sure how this enhances the Vikings brand, but it aint my team. 

I dont believe the level of angst for some matches the egregiousness of the dancing, but thats me. Appears more teams are engaging this way over time vs fewer. 

I guess turn the other way if you dont like it? You dont have to cheer em on.
