It's unfortunate it happened in the first place.  I have a lot of empathy for Transgender and the journey they have to travel...but let's not pretend that they are women for competitive sports particularly for things like swimming.  Regardless of hormonal therapy, you still have a 6' 1" person with an even larger wingspan advantage over their competitors.  You also have 30-50% larger chest / lung capacity than women.  You think that doesn't matter?

Treat the trans community with respect but this is just wrong to take away girls opportunities.

As the parent of a Trans daughter, I agree with this take re: competitive sports. 

Sadly, it's the sports issue that defines too many's complete understanding regarding this marginalized group. 

I'll end with denouncing how the Trump campaign portrayed this population and (more importantly) the resulting fear/hate among too many.

Not a lot of disagreement PF except once again...this shouldn't have happened in the first place.  Add support for policies such as support for minors transitioning and educators indoctrinating often without parental knowledge has created a cultural blowback.  It's unfortunate people like your daughter are caught in the middle.

I have a similar opinion about illegal immigration.  You can't be angry about the current Administration taking the expeditious route to deporting people without acknowledging the previous Admin took the expeditious route to bring these people in.

The cultural divide is tough to navigate these days.

It's definitely a complex topic, with the sports part being by far the easiest.  Men in women's sports should have never happened.  Trump's utilization of the picture above was one of the most effective ads in the campaign.  I think he did a good job of showing the extreme lengths the Biden administration went to promote the platform, to legalize children having forever treatments performed without parental consent, and to have the ideology taught to kindergartners without parental consent.  While the campaign ads were not nice, the implementation of forced acceptance in all instances under Biden went so far overboard as to make the kind of ads above by far the most effective of the campaign. 

I think the vast majority of Americans accept many parts of the LBTGQ agenda.  However, the vast majority also doesn't want the ideology forced upon them or their families, particularly to minor children who in many cases aren't ready for a forced agenda on sexual matters occurring well before their capability to understand it.  The two above people were hilariously under-qualified to serve in their roles as an aside.

Yea...the flamboyant luggage stealer with the facial hair (clearly indicating lack of hormonal treatment) didn't do the Trans movement any favors. At the end of the day, most people saw a guy who liked to dress in drag and had a thing for stealing luggage.
