"Rough day for Drake Maye at the Patriots’ first open OTA. He threw 4 INTs in 11-on-11 drills.
But again: It’s May. And OTAs. Looooooong way to go before these practices really mean much."
lol, you know damn well Patriot Twitter is on fire right now. This means nothing. JJM is going to have a day like this.

Steelers legend Terry Bradshaw calls the team's interest in Aaron Rodgers "a joke." Said Bradshaw: "That guy needs to stay in California. Go somewhere and chew on bark and whisper to the gods out there.”

I was wondering about this. Its not so much being 'bubbly', he's goofy. Silly like a child is silly. That shit isn't going to play in the NFL. I won't bring up the online interview he did a year or so ago wearing giraffe Garanimals (that's fact). I think Tyreek Hill said the other day 'Hunter is going to be ass' in the NFL. Stay tuned.
If the Vikings went RB, RJ Harvey was my choice. Unfortunately, you can't draft them all. Damn but those thighs boy!

Milroe is the exact type of QB you take a chance on. Incredible physical talent, if the light comes on and he figures out how to be more consistent as a passer you have a starting NFL QB with immense upside. If he doesn't, who cares if you used a late 3rd round pick.
Have any QBs like Milroe every panned out? Beyond rare. Yet a guy like Brock Purdy takes you an overtime away from a Superbowl win. I guess his comp would be like Justin Fields except he went at pick 11 in round 1....and Milroe doesn't pass anywhere near what Fields has, which is a low bar. Milroe is super raw as a passer, I think some of you are underestimating this.

Jalen Hurts was super raw as a passer and was better known for his rushing ability at Alabama. Got benched for Tua, kept his mouth shut and was a good teammate, and then went to Oklahoma and showed some progression as a passer. Needed a year in the NFL to develop and has become a functional passer in the NFL. I think that's the path you hope Milroe follows. If he doesn't, he can still be a viable backup ala Justin Fields, Malik Willis, etc.
Anything is possible, MG, but the odds are long. But I do agree the comp for Milroe isn't Lamar Jackson, it would be a Jalen Hurts type....and even so, Hurts was still a 2nd round selection. His ceiling to me is QB2. JMO.

Fun fact. Milroe had a higher completion percentage in college than Lamar by a fair amount.
...yet was still selected with the 92nd pick in round 3. Again, he might turn out to be good. But since we've seen the success of anomalies like Lamar Jackson and Jalen Hurts as predecessors, why draft Milroe so late then? Both of the former were selected way before number 92 overall. I don't pretend to be an exceptional projector of QB flesh, but I did watch a lot of Jalen Milroe because my best buddy down here is an Alabama alum. Maybe he turns it on in the NFL but here's some weaknesses that I agree with:
Threw five touchdowns and 10 interceptions in 2024 SEC play.
Hurried and lacking rhythm when working from the pocket.
Processing and decision-making are troubling at times.
Struggles to make anticipatory throws.
Success rate plummets when forced to come off primary option.
Fires hard-to-catch rockets at underneath targets.
Sails deep-outs and forces crossing routes to break stride to catch it.
Slow to feel mounting pressure and takes too many sacks.
Inconsistent trajectory on intermediate and deep-touch throws.
Comes up smallish in big games:
Jalen Milroe career stats vs Michigan:
0 wins, 2 losses. 32 for 55, 308 yds, 1 TD 1 INT. 37 rushes for 70 yards, 1.9 ypc, 11 sacks, 3 fumbles.
