New redshirt rookie handpicked QB.....big FA period....appears to be improvements in areas of weakness from last season. Lots of bright lights on the Vikings this year from a scheduling standpoint. Coach of the Year last year. Not sure as fans we could ask for much more at this point in an offseason. Games to be played yet, need to see balls in the air....and of course, as much health as we can ask for from the football gods.....but it sure seems like its a deliberately crafted, talented and well coached team: a strategic plan that came together.
Could this be the start of something legitimately special? Maybe a window that changes the narrative finally? Nobody knows yet, but it sure gives me some real hope and excitement as a fan as we stand today. Sweet anticipation this summer.

and as a defensive minded person... I am going to try and make him throw it 40 per game, until the OL proves it has gelled, and the kid has shown that he is a legit NFL QB, I am going to pack the LOS, have my LBs dropping and S blitzing, throwing shit at him from every possible angle to make him beat me.
Yeah, its not rocket science: young passer + pressure = mistakes. That is the hope and design for the D, attack. Prove he can handle it then they won't bring the kitchen sink. I'm sure KOC will have a gameplan for it. The issue defenses are going to have is JJM can move....both to pass and run. And he's got the arm to make deep passes out of the pocket on the run. Should be some good chess playing upcoming. I don't expect KOC to be predictable on offense with McCarthy.

Been harping on that for years now with KOC. We shall see if the Detroit/Rams games were truly a watershed moment for him. Did he finally understand you need an o-line and ability to run the ball? I think he is smart enough to understand it. Will he be able to stick to the plan on game day? That is the question.
Well KOC has only been here 3 years, so its taken that time to get the team the way he wants it personnel-wise with KAM. They needed to shed some cap and reorganize so that they could hit it hard this year in FA with a rookie QB's salary: that was always the plan. He didn't run as often as he'd like because they couldn't, didn't have the horses. I mean, they replaced both their starting guards and the center this offseason. I have zero doubt the strategy was always to be more balanced offensively. The competitive rebuild has been successful, not sure anyone can say otherwise. KOC has won 13 and 14 games in two seasons, and without the avalanche of injuries two years ago would have definitely gotten to at least 10 wins.
All roads and strategy has led to this season: if they can hit on McCarthy and the run game becomes more of a reliable part of the offense, watch out.
