Vikings are unable to trade down and the following players are on the board. Who do you take?

Grant, DT
Harmon, DT
Nolen, DT
Hairston, CB
Revel, CB
Emmanwori, S
Starks, S
Booker, G
Jackson, G/T
Zabel, C/G/T
Henderson, RB
Hampton, RB

Interesting. I may go Grant, Zabel, Nolen...in that order. I think Harmon might be available if we were to trade down a bit.

Cant help but wonder who the 3-5 might really be there?

I think they're going to take Revel...

My fandom order would be:

Henderson
Grant
Emmanwori

My favorite player on that list is Hampton, think he is a franchise RB, even with Mason and Jones it would be hard for me to pass him up.

I think we take the guy with the highest ceiling if all those dudes are there...

It's probably Emmanwori, followed by Nolan and Harmon on defense.

If we're looking to improve our offense around JJ, then Hampton would make sense or one of those OGs.

Maybe Kwesi takes one and then immediately trades our first next year for another 2nd round pick and we double up?

This is Sophie’s Choice difficult.

Harmon/Zabel/Henderson

I can get Harvey later or even Tuten and get a home run hitter.

Zabel is tough to pass on but there’s Gs later who could push Brandel if necessary.

Harmon infuses youth into the DL room plus talent. There’s no later pick that really can be substituted.

I’m out on Revel. Hurt in HS. Hurt in college. Same reasons I didn’t like Booth.

The 3 IDLs are the 3 most talented players on that list. Having said that my preference is given the extraordinary IDL depth in this draft, I would draft an IDL with a later pick.

The only player that I would draft over those 3 IDLs is Kelvin Banks the LT from Texas. I would play him at LG & you have an instant upgrade. It's unlikely that Banks drops to #24, so yeah, give me any of those 3 IDLs.

I agree that Emmanwori might have the highest upside. But there's a little bust factor there as well. Considering that about half of the guys we're talking about won't get 2nd contracts, I sometimes think it might be best to not take the BPA, but the SPA (safest player available). Everyone probably has a different idea of who that is, but I think for me it would be Starks, Harmon, Zabel or Jackson.

As much as I'd love a lineman on either side of the ball, Treyveon Henderson is just so damn intriguing there especially when you consider the fit in this offense and he'd give us a dynamic we don't have as a home run hitter out of the backfield. Imagine being a defensive coordinator having to account for our weapons in the passing game, but also now having to worry about Henderson finding a crease and taking it 80 on you or catching a screen with blockers in front of him. There might not be a better fit or player the Vikings could draft at 24.

BPA at 24? Probably
Have most impact in 24? Probably
SPA at 24? Probably

Biggest position of need? No, but neither was Moss

TH has OROY upside in this offense and surround. Its hard to get that kinda playmaker so late in Rd 1

if all those are still on the board, I am taking phone calls.  somebody will be wanting to jump up and get in on that,  not so far down that we fall out of that talent range,  but if we can add another day 2 pick,  that would help a lot.

Why isn't Chuck Foreman in the Hall of Fame?

Phew, man that is tough. What a candidate pool potential. I'll give my #1 and #1A:

#1:  OG Tyler Booker
#1A: DT Derrick Harmon

I professed my love for Kenneth Grant yesterday, but that was under the thought Harmon would be drafted by #24. Zabel would be 1B tied with Grant. 1st presser KOC had after the playoff loss, the very first thing he said is we'll be committed to making both lines of scrimmage better. Tougher. He looked disgusted. They've helped that tremendously in FA, why not go for elite with OG and DT?

Easy, Grant. The pick would be turned in about 10 seconds after we are on the clock.

I like Emmanwori, because we're living on borrowed time with Dirty Harry.
But this poses an interesting question...there are a LOT of really good options in the 20's.
I also like Zabel at G, and at DT...Grant, Nolan, Harmon...while I LOVE our IDL signings, look at the age and injury history of both signing of Allen and Hargrave.

Do you draft for immediate need or future talent banking?
I'd love to have that job...I'd hate to have that responsibility.

Probably Emmanwori would be my pick. Hitman's eventual replacement

Starks or Emmanwori. Harry is at the end and I don't trust Jackson yet. Competition for him and eventual Harry replacement.

So, if only one player and we stay at 24. Try and trade down even a few spots and take Donovan Jackson. I am just absolutely on board with this kid. Can play LT if Darrisaw isn't ready. Can play G at a very high level. Also, you have a player that can take over for Darrisaw if we choose not to resign him later on. I personally think he is just a no brainer for the Vikings.

I would probably stack my board of realistic possibilities like this;

1. Treyveon Henderson
2. Derrick Harmon
3. Tyler Booker
4. Donovan Jackson
5. Grey Zabel

As long as Kwesi doesn't pull the 2022 BS where a stud is looking him in the face he allows a divisional opponent to jump 1000 spots so you can collect a bag of footballs that are no longer on the team.. He avoids that.. Im good :-)
