So its QB Cam Ward going to the Titans/QB2
Not a surprise, I actually like the Titans not wasting anyone's time. And they know nobody is going to blow them away with a comp deal to move up, not for Cam Ward.
We also know QB2 for Minnesota is something we'll find out at the end of the month, either Flacco or Tannehill. That will help JJM for a year to have that vet extra set of eyes and advice. My guess for QB2 in 2026 and year or two at KOC University:
JustInTime wrote:Respect your opinion here, but I'm not a Will Levis fan: too flaky. Way to jacked for a QB. Can't be trusted with that kind of unhealthy adoration of mayonnaise. But seriously, he's an odd duck and really really bad when shit starts to break down. But the candidate has to have those intrinsic KOC valued traits that maybe only he quantifies to get accepted at KOC U so who knows, maybe Levis could be that guy. JMO as well, no idea at all. But there'll be candidates for sure. ;)
KOC did seem to like QR didn’t he? But man, this guy is so raw. A++ person but you can’t complete 50% of your passes? I’d trust KOC to advance his game but I’d go in a different direction. Put on Will Levis tape from his junior year from Kentucky and tell me that’s not Josh Allen 2.0. At least with Levis you’ve got a guy who has done it at some point. He could probably be had this year for a swap of 26 late round picks. Early in the process the Titans said they were picking a generational talent. I figured that was either Hunter or Carter. There’s nothing generational about Ward. Discount his position and he goes late 20s. Maybe later. But, they have PSLs to sell so we’ll see how that plays out.

The Vikings either made some trade during the Draft, attempted to make a trade during the Draft or outside the Draft on something and they wanted to include Lock in the trade as an 'afterthought' to the other player and Denver wouldn't do it. I THINK it was Denver, it may have been one of the other teams he played for. Anyway I'm clear as mud here on that lol, but it was either Year 1 or Year 2 of KOC being here. Anyone remember that? Sadly, Drew's Dad just recently passed away, he was a Kansas City restauranteur....Drew played at nearby University of Missouri.
In looking at the remaining Q2 candidates that fits into the ideal QB for KOC to work with, I think it may be Drew Lock. If you think of about it, he is similar to Darnold in terms of a big guy with a great arm, whose biggest issues has been his decision making and footwork. Like Darnold, I think KOC could get the most of his abilities. I do not think Tannehill brings a lot of value, a WR who was converted to a QB, he never really seemed like a true QB, has been out a year, is older and do not think he is offers anything for JJM in terms of mentorship. Flacco does fill that bucket, but at 40, how much does he have left in the tank if we need him to come in and play. I like the ideal of a younger backup who could play a good part of the season if necessary, which I do not see Tannehill or Flacco doing.

I think that to say the weight loss wasn't 'supposed to happen' and his injury was 'worse than an ACL' is completely off. Both Pete Bercich and Ben Leber said the day after his infamous appearance on the sidelines in the playoff loss that its completely normal and a doctor's advice to lose weight to put less pressure on the knee until if fully heals, its a fairly recent medical way of rehabbing. And if the injury was 'worse than an ACL' he wouldn't have been golfing 2 weeks ago in Mexico.
https://www.golongtd.com/p/gl-pod-jj-mccarthy-aaron-rodgers Really interesting podcast here between Tyler Dunne and Matthew Coller. I think it requires a subscription (bonus is you get McGinn's content). But there is a lot of stuff in this I wasn't aware of, including the Rodgers interest (legit due mostly to concerns about JJ's recovery and the big investments in the roster), JJ McCarthy's skillset ("they said we were getting Matt Hasselbeck; we might have gotten John Elway"), his IT factor (real moxie and magnetism), his improvement (terrible at OTAs, improved dramatically by training camp), his injury (worse than ACL according to a surgeon Coller spoke with) and subsequent weight loss ("wasn't supposed to happen"). They also mention a couple things about AR that might call into question that A+ character. After Coller goes into detail about McCarthy's IT factor. Dunne says this... "The opposite would be Anthony Richardson. He received a ticket for driving 105 in a 60 MPH zone at 4:11 am outside of Gainesville in April of 22....Did he learn from it? Two months later--TWO MONTHS!--he is apparently drunk at the Manning Passing Academy at Nichols State University. Police angry when Richardson leaned against the squad car. Manning staffers whisked him away in a van and Richardson apparently was screaming obscenities at the officers while they left the scene."
So on Shedeur Sanders: starting to see some low level backtracking from media 'insiders' on Sanders going top 5. Doesn't look like the Giants are going to take him at #3, yet still want a QB somewhere in the Draft. I think he slides. The problem as I see it and some other detractors is that arm: its weird, because he has a little more umph throwing deep then he does mid-range throws, which is red flag danger for a NFL QB. Arm strength is very mid. Fans love the deep ball but your effective, bread and butter throws are the 15-25 yard darts over the middle and hitting out routes. So the average QB drops back about what, 5-7 yards from the line of scrimmage with a 3 to 5 step drop? Say its 3rd and 11....you need an accurate, tight spiral for 15 to 19 yards for a first down. We've seen it a million times with successful QBs. But that's INT territory in the NFL for a weaker armed dude.
