Post June 1st release which will save us 4.4 million. Never lived up to expectations or able to correct his issues with bigger defensive lineman. Hopefully he ends up in Green Bay

Post June 1 cut to maximize cap savings. I think this covers our draft class.

After making 31 phone calls, obviously they had no takers for a trade.
That's the funny thing about the NFL...it's not a "market" in the true business sense. Your options are very finite.
Best to clean him out with a post-June 1 designation for the cap space.

Cap space for what?  They were already 33 mill under the cap.  They could have released him anytime prior to the start of the season and gotten the same return.

Probably doing him a favor so he can get ample time to latch on to another team.

We need to keep our 2nd position for most player attractive team in the NFL

Sure but then Bradbury's agent CAA Football who rep a large number of NFL players, could make it hard for the team to sign other players they rep, because they and Bradbury certainly wanted an early release so they could pursue a new team and contract for him. OTOH, friendliness to Bradbury equals future friendly negotiations, opportunities, etc.

The contract game as it's actually played is not the one-dimensional one-way street you are imagining. Every action has a consequence, and is the consequence of a negotiation. Though we aren't privy to any of the details, quid pro quo is the operating principle. The top ten or so agencies rep at least half the players in the league and have a lot of behind the scenes power.

$5.4 for rookies

Maybe since they are over next year they’ll allocate some to 2026.

25 more roster spots or so.

That no other franchise was willing to part with a late draft pick to get him at a decent cost tells me how good a player the NFL thinks he is

He's also designated a June 1 cap hit, why do that? Unless the Vikings are gonna make another big signing via trade .....?

I believe that by designsting him as June 1st that they can spread any remaining cap hit over this season and the next.  Outright cut now any hit is all on this years cap.  Basically cap flexibility.

During the Spielman days the Vikings had a tendency to play anyone with a high draft number or big contract even when they weren't performing to expectation. The current front office and coaches seem willing to replace those not performing up to expectation in order to improve the team. That is a very encouraging sign!
Bradbury was brought in to put the Elf back on the shelf, and was an upgrade. He looked like a great choice to be a wide zone center and wasn't bad in that running scheme. Great guy, sadly he just didn't have the lead to anchor.

The official height weight of Bradbury is 6’ 3” and 300#

It’s weird, because he seemed to play much smaller. I know the game has changed over the years. But….

Back in the day, Jeff Christy was 6’ 2” and 284#, and Matt Birk was 6’ 4”, 310#
Both were considerably better than Bradbury in my opinion. For whatever reason he just got pummeled by bigger d linemen. Maybe it has been the crappy guard play during his years here, or maybe he made the guards worse with his bad play.

I liked him, thought he was a great team guy. Just wish he’d been better.

Bradbury gets pushed into the Patriots backfield…!

The New England Patriots have signed veteran center Garrett Bradbury to a two-year, $12 million deal that includes $3.8 million guaranteed, according to a report from ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Jason Kelce was listed at 6'3 282

I'm sure they loved GB in the locker room, but not so much in the film room. They finally had enough.

Like has been posted a bunch, guy could not anchor.

Nothing bad to say about the guy as a dude, but you can't be the biggest FB in the NFL playing center.
