You Want Fries With That?
The #Vikings are signing former #Colts G Will Fries to a 5 year, $88M deal, per @rapsheet. pic.twitter.com/Aj6RQsSpVp

Definitely need to see the details on the last year deals to know if it’s even possible. I’m thinking he’s priced out of what we can offer.

According to Albert Breer, the Vikings beat out a strong market of teams to sign G Will Fries on Tuesday.
Breer says the Colts, Patriots, Giants, Seahawks and Cardinals were all bidding for Fries.
Someone mentioned this in another thread, but I think this is a case where the team, staff, culture and MN were more alluring than the other franchises. Getting the Colts C might have been huge in this get too.
So now they have 4 of their 5 starting OL who were/are PB's....Thats crazy
Hurry-up Vikings, we ain't getting any younger!

Also love the fact that Kelly and Fries already have a measure of continuity. I've never played OL before, but I've been told that knowing the strengths, weaknesses and tendencies of the guy next to you is a pretty big deal.
OL - Leverage, Communication & Continuity are huge.
Our coaches trained with Scott Peters - Formerly OL coach for Browns, I think he's now with the Patriots (Last season)
If you can leverage under your opponents pads, change spine angle, or re-direct your going to win your matchups.

For the film sickos: Here's Ryan Kelly and Will Fries passing off stunt with ease pic.twitter.com/gUE9NtemK7

The @Vikings decided that they wanted Fries with that, and you can see why. Former @Colts RG Will Fries is a nasty finisher with good pass pro traits who can win in any scheme. Kevin O'Connell's run game is a bit of everything, and this is a large upgrade. pic.twitter.com/xStJoRj11V

Textbook stuff there ^^
Notice how they deflect hands & "Hold" (without the call) by keeping their hands inside their opponents frame.
quick feet & both utilize their "Brake" foot to counter & re-direct. Great vision / awareness.
