If you’re wondering how soft the market is for Darnold, here’s your answer. Spytek gives up a Day 2 pick rather than sign Darnold for zero draft capital.
Now, does Darnold land in Seattle?
QB Sam Darnold’s market has been all over the map the last 24 hours. Once it became known that Seattle was interested in trading with the Las Vegas Raiders last night for Geno Smith, Darnold’s market improved.

Looks like the Raiders want to redo Smith’s deal to the tune of $40 million a year. If true, I’d seriously consider having Spytek tested for CTE.

This doesn't reflect on Darnold, but on the relationship between Carroll and Smith, who Carroll loved having as his QB in Seattle. Geno comes in and instantly runs the same system they had in Seattle.
Interesting. Carrol comes from defensive side. Raiders new OC is Chip Kelly who wasn’t in Seattle.

Seattle fans aren't happy about this....at all. Pushing their luck here by moving Geno. Pretty obvious the market for Uncle Sammy is far weaker than the media could have imagined. So much for the 'Raiders want Darnold!' and 'Raiders making inroads to get Vikings to trade JJ McCarthy'..... (eye roll). Nobody knows shit. No 'rumors' a few days before the Geno Smith trade, you'd think all these 'insiders' in the media, something would have leaked. Nope. They act like they have sources and 85% of them don't, its all horseshit. I will give Russini credit as she said 2 days ago the QB market might include a trade of an existing starter, so she had some intel...no other 'insider' said anything like this.
I think Darnold wants a 3 year contract and I seriously doubt any team is interested in giving him that and committing to him....maybe Seattle: he's going to be a bridge QB again for whichever team he signs with. Nobody trusts him. Seattle makes sense for Darnold, their OC runs same offense as KOC. Geno mitigated a lot of poor pass blocking in Seattle during his tenure there. From the ESPN Seattle beat writer:
"What should the Seahawks do at QB for 2025?
The Seahawks should sign a bridge quarterback and draft a speculative QB2 in the middle rounds. Remember, Schneider drafted Wilson in the third round in 2012 and got great value from Smith as a free agent signing in 2019. Darnold is the ideal bridge candidate because he has the highest ceiling and some familiarity with Kubiak from their shared year in San Francisco. But that only applies if he's signed to a deal with only one or two years of real money. That would give Seattle an out if Darnold gets outplayed by a midround option on a rookie deal such as Jalen Milroe (Alabama) or Tyler Shough (Louisville). Jones would also fit as an adequate bridge option if Seattle can't afford Darnold.
Of course, neither a bridge nor a rookie has much chance of developing into something more until the Seahawks' offensive line is fixed. That remains Seattle's biggest offseason priority."
