RapSheet says: Vikings and Darnold want to work something out

I'm reading a bunch of conflicting reports now....some saying the opposite of this. Surprise. Silly Season.

....but you're also wasting a year of JJM's contract and his development. It doesn't make any sense to me for Minnesota to resign Darnold and why Darnold would want to resign without trading McCarthy. Is the market complete shit for Sam? That also says something to the Vikings or should if true.  Somebody explain to me why it shouldn't be JJ McCarthy time this season? Because I haven't heard a good explanation yet. His knee is 100%, not sure why some fans continue to think the team is 'concerned' over this. The injury happened in August of last year.

Totally legit take. I don't agree completely with your assessment of Darnold (its more than two games for me), but I do hear you. MB has said as much as well. As Ive mentioned, I understand why some fans may want to resign Darnold....but I don't with McCarthy drafted and sitting the bench. Kirk Herbstreit talked yesterday on the Pat McCafee Show that he thought McCarthy is going to elevate the Vikings more than Darnold, is a big supporter of JJM after watching his games in college. Expects big things from him as a pro. As do I. Not a fan of the bed shitters.....signing Darnold with McCarthy there doesn't make sense to me.
