"The Unforgiven" with Clint Eastwood was a really good western...

Name a bad movie with Gene Hackman in it. He chose his roles well because that's pretty hard to do. One of my faves....

Sounds tragic. He, his wife and dog all found dead. At first hearing, I thought maybe it was a thing where husband and wife die together as an assisted suicide because of an illness, etc. but when I heard the dog was dead as well, it probably isn't that. Gas leak possibly, carbon monoxide, etc. One of my favorite actors, everything better with him in it.

Bingo...

First I thought good run till 95, then the wife and dog....Its gotta be CM.

Have you changed yours out lately?

I don't recall ever seeing the French Connection. Probably because it came out in '71 when I was 7. 8 must've been the age when I started paying attention to sports and movies because that's the first Viking season I can recall, and also when Poseidon Adventure came out, and I sure as hell remember that one. Hackman with hair.

RIP to a true giant of Hollywood, an actor who could play any kind of role, and who was astounding at his craft.

Definitely rewatching Mississippi Burning, Absolute Power, and many more this weekend.

KOC, JJM, Flores...make a good plan, or you'll be following Kwesi....

"Alvin C. Copeland Sr., the founder of Popeyes food chain, was a big fan of the film and found Hackman’s character particularly captivating. Inspired by the tenacity and determination of Popeye Doyle, Copeland decided to name his fast-food venture after this memorable character. Thus, Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen was born."

I would have bet the farm on that too....Now, not so sure

============================

The causes of death are not yet known. The pair did not show any external trauma, and there were no immediate signs of foul play, according to preliminary autopsies and officials. There were also no immediate signs of a carbon monoxide or natural gas leak, authorities said.

The couple’s bodies were found in separate rooms in their Santa Fe house, with scattered pills found next to Arakawa, according to the sheriff’s office.

Investigators have not yet determined whether Hackman and Arakawa died at the same time, Santa Fe County Sheriff Adan Mendoza told NBC’s “Today Show” on Friday morning, but they both likely had been dead for some time before they were discovered.

“It appears (to be) several days, possibly even up to a couple of weeks,” Mendoza said.

Interesting. There was a story late yesterday saying it was carbon monoxide. The original story said they thought the bodies were there a day or so. Bad reporting on this.

Loved him in everything he did. The Royal Tenenbaums was an underrated classic.
