Mississippi Burning, The UnForgiven and Hoosiers right up there for me for Hackman.

The first two I’ve only seen once. Hoosiers, Crimson Tide…dozens...Mississippi Burning I’ll have to rewatch this weekend

Name a bad movie with Gene Hackman in it. He chose his roles well because that's pretty hard to do. One of my faves....

Sounds tragic. He, his wife and dog all found dead. At first hearing, I thought maybe it was a thing where husband and wife die together as an assisted suicide because of an illness, etc. but when I heard the dog was dead as well, it probably isn't that. Gas leak possibly, carbon monoxide, etc. One of my favorite actors, everything better with him in it.

Bingo...

First I thought good run till 95, then the wife and dog....Its gotta be CM.

Have you changed yours out lately?

I don't recall ever seeing the French Connection. Probably because it came out in '71 when I was 7. 8 must've been the age when I started paying attention to sports and movies because that's the first Viking season I can recall, and also when Poseidon Adventure came out, and I sure as hell remember that one. Hackman with hair.

RIP to a true giant of Hollywood, an actor who could play any kind of role, and who was astounding at his craft.

Definitely rewatching Mississippi Burning, Absolute Power, and many more this weekend.

KOC, JJM, Flores...make a good plan, or you'll be following Kwesi....

"Alvin C. Copeland Sr., the founder of Popeyes food chain, was a big fan of the film and found Hackman’s character particularly captivating. Inspired by the tenacity and determination of Popeye Doyle, Copeland decided to name his fast-food venture after this memorable character. Thus, Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen was born."

It was carbon monoxide poisoning.

I would have bet the farm on that too....Now, not so sure

============================

The causes of death are not yet known. The pair did not show any external trauma, and there were no immediate signs of foul play, according to preliminary autopsies and officials. There were also no immediate signs of a carbon monoxide or natural gas leak, authorities said.

The couple’s bodies were found in separate rooms in their Santa Fe house, with scattered pills found next to Arakawa, according to the sheriff’s office.

Investigators have not yet determined whether Hackman and Arakawa died at the same time, Santa Fe County Sheriff Adan Mendoza told NBC’s “Today Show” on Friday morning, but they both likely had been dead for some time before they were discovered.

“It appears (to be) several days, possibly even up to a couple of weeks,” Mendoza said.

Hope they both RIP

SANTA FE, N.M. — Actor Gene Hackman died of heart disease a full week after his wife died from hantavirus in their New Mexico hillside home, likely unaware that she was dead because he was in the advanced stages of Alzheimer’s disease, authorities revealed Friday.

Both deaths were ruled to be from natural causes, chief medical examiner Dr. Heather Jarrell said alongside state fire and health officials at a news conference.

‘‘Mr. Hackman showed evidence of advanced Alzheimer’s disease,‘’ Jarrell said. ‘’He was in a very poor state of health. He had significant heart disease, and I think ultimately that’s what resulted in his death.‘’

Authorities didn’t suspect foul play after the bodies of Hackman, 95, and Betsy Arakawa, 65, were discovered Feb 26. Immediate tests for carbon monoxide poisoning were negative.

Investigators found that the last known communication and activity from Arakawa was Feb. 11 when she visited a pharmacy, pet store and grocery before returning to their gated neighborhood that afternoon, Santa Fe County Sheriff Adan Mendoza said Friday.

Hackman’s pacemaker last showed signs of activity a week later and that he had an abnormal heart rhythm on Feb. 18., the day he likely died, Jarrell said.

Although there was no reliable way to determine the date and time when both died, all signs point to their deaths coming a week apart, Jarrell said.

‘‘It’s quite possible he was not aware she was deceased,‘’ Jarrell said.
