Da Bills
Talk about heartbreak. You draft a QB as good as Josh Allen is only to go against Pat Mahomes in repeat appearances at the championship game and just can't get over the hump.
JJM is going to need to be world class if we're going to beat teams like Detroit and Philadelphia in the coming years.

He'll have to be good, but keep in mind the Vikings will have a QB on a rookie deal for quite some time, meaning they'll have money to put top-level talent around JJ. Goff's cap hit in 2025 is $32M, $69M the following year. Roseman did some voodoo economics with Hurts' contract. Hurts' cap hit in 2025 is only $21M, then a pretty reasonable $31M the following year. Still, as it is now, the Vikings have nearly 3 times the cap space as the Eagles in 2025.
One consequence of that could be DT Milton Williams. It's not likely the Eagles will be able to keep him and the Vikings desperately need better inside pass rush.

When is the last time we picked a high quality piece in the 3rd round? The Eagles drafted so well. This 2024 class needs to be a home run for us.

Mekhi Blackmon looks like a pretty good 3rd rounder from 2023. Before that, Danielle Hunter.
But remember it was Howie Roseman who took Jalen Reagor over Justin Jefferson. I think he took that personally because they've drafted really well since then.

I thought Hunter was 4th round. But yes, all GMs have blind spots. Spielman was QB and o-Line. Denny Green was D-line. Has Roseman given Hurts much help at the WR position thru the draft?

Davonta Smith has worked out for them at WR.
Big time Stockton/Malone Utah Jazz feels for the Bills right now.

Allen doesnt have enough weapons imo...Plus they criminally under-utilized James Cook yesterday, one of their best weapons.
He wasn't even on the field their last drive.
No sympathy from me.
Hurry-up Vikings, we ain't getting any younger!

As good as Josh Allen is, and as good overall as the Bills are, they seem to lack the "special sauce" to get the next couple of steps. Previously, the problem WAS Josh Allen, as he'd make dumbass mistakes that doomed his team. He really didn't do much of that last night, though he could've had a couple of early INTs.
KC, ref controversies aside, continue to look like they'll have the ingredients to win against whomever they play. Pretty and domination are fun, but Ws are what gets the rings.
As for Detroit and Philly...eh...the former is losing a lot of coaching power, while the latter is admittedly scarier with Barkley involved; defenses need to "spy" both he and Hurts.
KOC, JJM, Flores...make a good plan, or you'll be following Kwesi....
There were times when Allen was careless with the ball and held onto the ball for too long. It's in his head now

Worked out would be a good description. Not bad, nothing worth getting excited about.
What I like about him is that he is reliable. Doesn't have a drop issue. He gives you 1000 yards a season and over 5 TDs a season with 8 TDs this year. Having AJ Brown takes away some of that as well. I think he is very underrated.

Spot on. Kincaid dropping that last pass was emblematic of their dearth of pass catchers all year. To their credit, they tried by bringing in Cooper, but the mid-season WR trade almost never works and this was no exception.
No James Cook at the end was bizarre. He and Allen kept them in the game.
I knew McDermott would get out-coached by Reid but still for some reason thought Buffalo might take it. They almost did but just like the Vikes for whatever reason, not meant to be.

They got a window, but it wont last forever...
The Bills Mafia is going to turn-up the heat on McDermott. It always lands on the desk of the HC.
GM needs to get some weapons for Allen or they'll just fade away one day. Then they can wonder what might have been.

Best teams in the NFL this year: KC (Mahomes); Bills (Allen); Philly (Hurts); Baltimore (Jackson). Maybe go one deeper and say Commanders (Daniels). What's the commonality? Does JJ have that dual threat capability?

Yes, JJ can run and does run when needed. One of his strengths.
McCarthy played in a system that emphasized running the ball and play-action. He used his athleticism to scramble, extend plays, and make plays off-schedule.
Sounds like he will fit in perfect with what KOC wants to run.
