Vikings only have 3 picks as of now, 1st and two 5ths. We're expected to get a comp pick, projected to be the 33rd pick in the 3rd round, for the Cousins departure. The other FA's that we lost were canceled out by the FA's that we picked up.
Kiper is already out with his 1st mock today.
The few mocks that I've seen that go as far as the 24th pick have the Vikings trading out for more picks in this year's draft.
First one I bothered to look at had us taking Kaleb Johnson, the Rb out of Iowa at 24.
2nd rb off the board after the kid from Boise.
Hurry-up Vikings, we ain't getting any younger!

Youre killing me Smalls
Why isn't Chuck Foreman in the Hall of Fame?
Out of the 23 draft picks KAM has had over the past 3 years (not counting the ones he traded away), he has produced one starter, so not overly confident on what he will do with 3 picks this year.

Hell with first rounders having the highest odds of success, his best bet is to continue to trade away all other pics, supplemented with future pics, for additional first round pics to ensure that his hit rate is within the acceptable norm. Even if its 1 starter from every 3 drafts.

It's pretty easy to see where the Vikings will go in the draft. Where do they have bridge players starting? Starters on 1-year deals? Gilmore, Griffin, Aaron Jones, Akers, Tillery, Bullard.
I'd be willing to bet a mortgage payment that our 1st round pick will be CB, RB or DT.

I think we fix the G issues with FA. I have a feeling that will be the priority. CB is a massive hole as well. You almost have to add one or two in FA as well. Luckily, we have the cap space.
I don’t think you can really look at our current 2024 roster too much and assume that’s going to influence where we’ll draft. Like every year, they’re going to go into free agency and make sure the starting roster is "competent", and then they’ll go get long term impact starter. I think after free agency completes, we’ll have a pretty good idea of who we’ll be targeting.
I think DB is highly likely just out of sheer need and the volume of picks, CB edges out safety. After that IOL and IDL, as an upgrade over competent is probably what is needed to put us over the top. I would not be surprised to see us go G and C in FA, and then add in another guard in the first or high second after a trade down.
