So am I the only one that is wondering if Will came back to soon and is maybe keeping something from the training staff?  its not just the missed FGs,  its the Fd up kick offs as well that have me questioning him.

Did he see Parker Romo kicking ass and get nervous for his spot and decided to try and play through it so as not to get wally pipped?

He doesnt have that stone cold look that he had early in the season,  I am back to having no confidence in our place kicker.

Why isn't Chuck Foreman in the Hall of Fame?

Probably in his head. Daniels said he was fully healthy before he came back and that IR rules were the only reason he was out a full four games, so you have to believe that to be accurate. But did it mess with his head a little? His timing? His mojo? Maybe so. Kickers are a funny lot.

Icksnay on the Reichard dad jokes.... :s

Will Reichard's father was Gary Reichard, who passed away in 2016 from pancreatic cancer.

Gary was Will's first kicking coach, training with him on weekends and taking off work to take him to practice.

Will honors his father by pointing up to the sky after making a field goal.

I never knew Reichard's father...or that he passed away. The dude above is from the Olympics. Has to be one of the funniest Olympic images I've ever seen, besides of course the break dancer. Hand in pocket, steely eyed stare. Central casting hit man right there.

With Romo kicking so well, I never understood why we brought him back so soon and did not wait until he was fully healed. Think he came back too early, missed some kicks that first game back and that his confidence has not been the same since. Kickers miss 50+ kicks, but the one last night was pathetic, not even close and the kickoff was no excuse, that was just a lack of concentration that cost of 3 points and swung the momentum going into the half. I am not sure if we can get Romo back, but would if we could as I do not think is dependable for the playoffs.

I think its worth a discussion,  however I think that would likely be the end of Iron Will in MN.

He's gotta still be hurt or else why is he flubbing kickoffs which are relatively low pressure situations for most kickers?

I don't know. But yes I am worried about it, and anyone who would feel otherwise must not be watching the games. He's a different player than before he got hurt.

It blows. I had high hopes for Reichard. Back to holding my breath on each kick.

I guess as Vikings fans we have to wake up from the dream sometime. Seems inevitable!

You can just see he has lost confidence in his kicking. I mean how hard is it to keep a kick in the field of play. That fuckup lead to the Lions scoring right before half. I miss Parker Romo.

Vikings remain confident in Reichard

Both Vikings head coach Kevin O’Connell and special teams coordinator Matt Daniels said this week the team remains confident in rookie kicker Will Reichard after three missed field goals and a botched kickoff in the past two games.

“I know Will is as confident as any kicker I’ve ever been around in himself and holds himself to an incredibly high standard, so when results don’t happen for him as a young player, I think it shows sometimes and that’s OK,” O’Connell said.

O’Connell said that Reichard’s kickoff error that set up the Lions for three points before halftime on Sunday night was a mishit. Daniels explained Reichard accidentally struck the ball with the heel of his foot trying to boot it into the end zone.

Daniels also likened the delay before the 51-yard attempt Reichard missed in Detroit to an icing, though said it wasn’t an excuse. The officials moved the ball forward less than a full yard on a replay-assisted call after the Vikings kicking unit had lined up.
