Yahoo Sports: Vikings keeping Sam Darnold and J.J. McCarthy together in 2025...

I can see both sides of the argument (actually there are probably five sides to the argument). Good problem to have.
Yep, and some of the fan base isn't going to like whatever direction they decide to go. But ultimately, a tough decision will be made but it will come from having really good options.
Just read that Dianna Russini, a very dialed in NFL insider, said she had a conversation with a Vikings team source and they want 'Darnold back in 2025'.
Honestly, I don't think any 'sources' have any insight right now at all: the organization is 100% laser focused on each game and this season. There's plenty of time to discuss strategy when the season is over. I call bullshit on anyone that says they have a source that is feeding them info about the future of Darnold or even McCarthy. I post stuff that I see online about this topic, but I don't believe any of it because really this is all common sense scenarios that are obvious and one of them is going to be correct....you don't need a 'source' to tell anyone that. I think the staff is just way too into each weekly gameplan to sit around and discuss this at this time.

If it does come down to Sam deciding between the big bucks in Minnesota and the REALLY big bucks somewhere else, he really need only look at what happened to the last guy who was faced with the same decision.
I don't blame Sam for whatever decision he makes, he's 27 years old and this will be his first true payday and getting the bag. Trevor Lawrence of all people is making $55 million.....who'd you rather have: Lawrence or Darnold? And why would I take less if I'm Sam? There are no parallels between Korko and Darnold, completely different situations for several reasons.
There won't be a longer term Darnold deal. Its next year and done if he wants that. KOC loves JJ McCarthy.
