OT: A Complete Unknown
Saw the Bob Dylan movie yesterday, A Complete Unknown. Best movie I've seen since Oppenheimer. Probably better. Timothee Chalamet becomes Bob Dylan...the mannerism, the cadence with which he spoke, the nasal vocal delivery without--and this is key--overdoing it.
Talented dude, pride of MN.
My wife is a HUGE Dylan fan, but I am not. She'll be seeing that one w/out me.
Hurry-up Vikings, we ain't getting any younger!

He was a bit before my time so I was never a huge Dylan fan. I can tell you this, I'm a much bigger fan today than I was yesterday. So many songs like A Girl from the North Country that I never really "got" before but do now. After the movie, my son ran into his bedroom, picked up his guitar and didn't come out for 4 hours. Never seen him so inspired.
Grew up listening to Dylan because my older brothers listened to him. I am a fan, but will say that as great as he can be, he can be equally awful. I’ve seen him 6 times and I’m evenly split with great concerts and terrible concerts. So, about 10 years ago I decided that I wouldn’t see him again, since I don’t think he gets better with age.
Best show was when Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers backed him up in the 80s.
Worst show was about 11 yrs ago in Chicago. Had no idea what he was singing and the music was equally bad.
I’ll probably watch this when I get a chance.
