Patriots waive KJ Osborne
Sounds like it was a mutual parting. Any interest here in the Vikings bringing him back for the stretch run?
I'd take him as a #3 in a heart-beat.
Hurry-up Vikings, we ain't getting any younger!
Powell hasn't shown up at all this year which has been interesting. I doubt KJ would subplant speedy though?

I think Osborn has proven to be more consistent than either Powell or Nailor, and he knows the offense. I'd certainly kick those tires

Yup, I had posted this about an hour ago.
I have liked Powell and Nailor has had glimpses, but both have made unforced errors.
But so did KJ. KJ showed he was capable of some big plays when Jets was double covered.
But KJ dropped a few too many for my liking last season, which made him expendable.
Glad I don't have to make this decision.
Nailor and Powell have been mostly ghosts. KJ was disappointing last year but has shown a lot more than the other two. I'd be surprised if the Vikings didn't sign him.

How? Over Nailor? Speedy is a better player. Powell is the punt returner. Viking's fan need to move on, lol.
Osborn was a much more dependable no. 3 receiver when he was here than Nailor. Maybe he has regressed, but he has the potential to bring some stability as the no. 3 receiver, something that Nailor hasn't yet demonstrated. Nailor is ideally a four with big play ability, but isn't a down to down possession type like Osborn.

I'd agree with this. I'm actually a little surprised Trishton Jackson hasn't gotten more of an opportunity.
KJ was a good route receiver but he did drop some easy ones and would have to get familiar with Darnold. The receiver room is on a roll right now...not sure you want to mess with their mojo. Who's the odd man out? Powell returns punts. Speedy has the ability to take the lid off if you're struggling with protection. Jackson?
I dont think KJ is nearly as effective with SD at QB as he was with KC, Kirk tended to throw to the tighter covered receivers than SD does, and KJ isnt exactly fleet of foot or overly elusive so I think by SDs definition of covered, KJ would rarely be a viable target.
all this said, I think he would be a better target of the 3 if SD was more comfortable throwing to a covered receiver.
Why isn't Chuck Foreman in the Hall of Fame?
