Whether that's here in some role is TBD. The main point is that he gets a new start, out of NY and the Giants org.

Hurry-up Vikings, we ain't getting any younger!

He's got all the money he needs, probably is fine not playing the remainder of the year. This thought that he's automatically Darnold's backup is crazy, he won't be: it'll be Mullens. Not sure how a guy that just signed at the end of November is going to rock and roll optimally over a vet like Mullens doesn't make sense.

I agree.  Mullens knows the offense and is a serviceable backup.  I cannot imagine any confidence putting him into the hot seat without him taking a few months to learn the offense.
You have to agree that JJM is not a backup option this year.  This is a chess move that is smart and gives the Vikings the inside track for multiple options at the end of this season.

It took Cousins over a year with 2 training camps to get confortable in this offense, i find it very unlikely that Jones would be ready to compete with Mullins in a month or two.

Why isn't Chuck Foreman in the Hall of Fame?

Are there a lot of pundits anointing him Qb2 this year?

I agree that is not going to happen unless there is an absolute disaster - like cataclysmic, end of world.

I am FINE with Mullens as a back-up for a game or 2. He threw a stone cold dagger on 3rd and 13 last week. Brass ballz throw.

Considering how many comebacks he was part of orchestrating in 2022, I find that post to be quizzical as hell.

I think the offense is constantly evolving for its players and its situations, as it has to be. KOC is only in season 3 as HC, and he keeps the gametime OC calling as well. As we've been often pretty toothless in the 2nd halves of games, he's arguably got plenty left to learn as well.

KOC, JJM, Flores...make a good plan, or you'll be following Kwesi....

This brings me back around to how JJM is going to benefit from a year steeping in the KOC offensive ecosystem. Tearing a meniscus in your rook season isnt ideal but any means, but just trying to see the positives.

We will have to see what happens in the next few weeks but I view Jones as the #3 QB in the playoffs and the #2 next year, if he returns. Mullens has been clutch this year in his two appearances and he knows the offense. He has been a good #2.

Absolutely! Especially, if he has been attending the QB meetings, practicing game situations with virtual reality, and viewing the actions captured on Go Pro.

Pretty sure that was from Cousins himself.

I think Dimes has a lot to learn with the system, maybe things to get corrected.
Probably he will get evaluated on a weekly basis.
I have to laugh everyone used to say how terrible he was and how much he I was getting paid. and now he’s on our practice squad.
Think it was a good move for the price.
