This 17 game season with 1 bye is really hard on a 53 man roster.

Maybe when they move to 18 games?

Hurry-up Vikings, we ain't getting any younger!

I think yes, they’ll go to a two bye season when they go to 18 games. It will also allow byes for what seems like a bunch more international games.

I could see every team doing a 2 week european or other foreign market swing every year and getting a bye either into or out of it. That way it would balance out every team would still have a balanced true home and away schedule as well as the 2 developing market games. Also see the active roster going to 58 players and maybe a few more game day actives or some kind of 3rd QB type rule where you can dress a few more emergency type players.

Why isn't Chuck Foreman in the Hall of Fame?

If they do that with an 18 game season, realize that would effectively extend the regular season by two weeks. I can see a two-game exhibition season (and the season would start a week earlier), but that would push the regular season one week later into January. Lot more winter football.
