SI.com: Vikings should extend Darnold right now

To early for this talk imo. Could easily still he a mirage. Whats he going to do when they need him to step up and lead a key drive or a comeback? Im not saying he wont, just want to see it happen a few times before we get crazy and start changing our future plans with JJM.
Agreed. I mention the author because he's a dick. He went from the narrative of 'Darnold sucks' to 'the Vikings are idiots if they don't extend him now'. Just setting the table to at some point to be right about something negative so he can bag on the team. I don't know that I'd say Darnold is a mirage, I just feel he hasn't had any bumpy sledding yet and what will that look like for him. The dude has made plays when needed, drives when necessary and stands tall in the pocket. Tough dude.
You're probably thinking of me? But as I've said a hundred times (to a wall apparently), it's too early to make that decision. I personally subscribe to the thought that if this continues into weeks weeks 12, 13, etc, the Vikings need to have a serious conversation about extending him.
But I disagree with those who say "barring Sam winning a Super Bowl" this team is JJ's. It will have nothing to do with a Super Bowl, nor should it IMO.
Not just you, MB. There's others on the board as well. And I'm not bagging on anyone that feels this way, I hope that's not what is coming across. I just feel differently and what I'm doing by posting that is saying there are others that feel that way as well, validating it more than anything. I think Tom said it best, its a 'Cadillac Problem' to have.
